I've met so many lovely Tull fans in the last ten years and Lisa was one of the very best. We met on Myspace and then FB where we shared videos and lyrics of Tull.
Lisa did not have the best of health and was in and out of hospital over the years however her positivity and beautiful smile shone all through the time I knew her.
We've lost a beautiful person and a great Tull fan.
Thoughts to all her family and friends.

Apologize for being the bearer of bad news at this time of year Status Quo's Rick Parfitt dies aged 68www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-38427459Status Quo guitarist Rick Parfitt has died in hospital in Spain aged 68, his manager has said. He died from a severe infection after being admitted to hospital on Thursday following complications to a shoulder injury. Parfitt had been due to launch a solo career with an album and autobiography planned for 2017. He has suffered a series of health problems including having to undergo a quadruple heart bypass in 1997. In October, the musician said he would no longer be performing with his band after suffering from a heart attack in the summer. Parfitt is survived by his wife Lyndsay, their twins Tommy and Lily and his adult children Rick Jnr and Harry, a statement from the family said. Obituary: One of rock's most recognisable guitarist Image caption Parfitt (left) and the Quo ignored the changes in musical and sartorial fashion By Nick Serpell With his flowing blond locks, denim gear and Fender Telecaster, Rick Parfitt was one of rock's most recognisable guitarists. His partnership with Francis Rossi became the core of Status Quo, one of Britain's most enduring bands. Their brand of boogie-woogie rock survived changes in musical fashion and made them one of the best-loved live acts of their generation. As well as driving the Quo sound on stage, Parfitt penned many of the band's biggest hits. R.I.P

All the more reason to make the most of what we have still got. RIP Rick Parfitt Absolutely... Let's make the best of it... What I mean by saying that our world is coming to an end, is by the way not that the end of the world is near, though it just might be very near... but that's not what I mean by saying this... When I was born, and growing up in the sixties and seventies... many of the people that I knew then is not alive any more... Rock stars are gone... TV personalities... My old school teachers... even friends... etc... etc... All of these people that was a very palpable part of my life, or "my world" if you may... are slowly dying out... Like everyone who lived in 1745, or 1869... They are all gone now... The "world" that they knew back then, slowly came to an end... That's really what I mean by saying that our world is coming to an end... This summer I will be 53 years old, if I live that long... In only seven years I will be 60, if I live that long... In 17 years I will be 70... If I live that long, and time flies like an arrow... David Bowie is gone... Carrie Fisher is fighting for her life... Lou Reed is dead... Ian Anderson can't go on forever... Rick Parfitt... I could go on and on and on... I'm just trying to see it as it is, that the world that I knew and took for granted is slowly disappearing, or coming to an end...

What a year 2016 has been for culling those who entertained us.
It's not just age and lifestyle at work here - why all the same year?
Davis Bowie - January and then George Michael on Xmas day - weird and very sad.
Rest in peace George

Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison... Were there more?

For me it is the year we lost David Bowie and Prince....everyone else is second page news. That sounds a little harsh to me, but I have been talking to Jim lately. Not about this statement, but we talked about the Rest In Peace thread, and one of the problems about this is, in my opinion, that if we don't stop somewhere The Jethro Tull forum will soon be filled up with death and misery... and that's just not why The Jethro Tull forum was created... I was a little puzzled though when no one on The Jethro Tull forum posted anything about Carrie Fisher's death, or her mother Debbie Reynolds, but of course we have to draw the line somewhere... So, after talking to Jim I had a better idea about what the reasoncould be that no one posted anything about it, but of course I don't know everybody's specific reasons, or if they have one... Nobody have to post anything... I hope that's clear... I was just a little puzzled...

Can't speak for others, but a rash of "too soon" deaths in 2016 noticed doesn't necessarily mean that I or others would feel a need to post comments about it everywhere or anywhere. I'm on Facebook and loads of comments hit about Fisher, Reynolds and so many others, from Bowie, George Martin right on through to Christopher (Mulcahy on M*A*S*H*). I would maybe post such a thing to the Tull Forum on rare occasion if it was music-related, a shocker and something the Tullie fans would likely recognize. Let's hope the Grim Reaper turns his attention to ugly politics and leaves the arts and sciences alone for 2017.

It goes without saying that 2016 was an exceptional year for deaths and that would explain why the Rest In Peace thread popped up a lot. There is a freedom here to post whenever you feel like it - no commitments. The Jethro Tull Forum was created to be a Tull and Other Music Forum. It has evolved to be a place of information and of course humour. There's loads of threads that aren't Tull related as all Tull and no play makes Jack or Jill very Dull.

It has evolved to be a place of information and of course humour. There's loads of threads that aren't Tull related as all Tull and no play makes Jack or Jill very Dull. Of course, and it would be rather strange if people didn't have their freedom to post, or not to post... but is it fair to say that the Rest In Pease Thread is mostly, and foremost the Rest In Pease Musicians Thread? I simply love that The Jethro Tull Forum is a place where we can discover other things than Jethro Tull... The love for the band kind of binds people together, though that isn't always the case, but discovering peoples differences, the cultural differences etc... etc... is to me a fantastic and very welcome bonus... Humor is also very welcome... Too many boring threads can be rather tedious... We have a lot of visitors here, and I believe that A Drop of Honey Catches More Bees Than a Gallon of Gall... What I'm trying to say is that if we try to have a little fun, not that it's always that funny, but if we try once in a while, I don't believe that it will hurt The Jethro Tull Forum, and that it may even have a positive side effect...

I'd dare to say Chuck Berry was more of a persistent positive influence on music than Elvis. Elvis got more attention and gave girls heart attacks with his adrenaline-rushes and circus stage outfits, but for content and originality, purpose and creativity? No way. Chuck Berry had huge influence and did it all with positive music.

Brian Matthew, the veteran broadcaster who hosted Sounds of the 60s on BBC Radio 2, has died at the age of 88. His death follows the announcement in January that he was stepping down from the programme due to ill health. "Our beloved Brian Matthew passed away last night," his family said in a statement. I've listened to Brian Matthew on the radio for over 50 years and for me Saturday mornings will never be the same again. Rest in peace Brian

A true music fan indeed, and one of very few UK radio presenters who played Tull from time to time.. He was somewhat limited in choice though due to his programme being Sounds of the Sixties!
