" ...within a period of about five or six days I've written the first draft of all the lyrics for a new project...but's that's something for 2017"
Eddie Winter-radio interview March 2016
Okay let the speculation begin!

How about TAAB 4 ? ... Just kidding Many times I try to guess what direction the music might go. I never really can predict the subject matter but this album should be much heavier with guitar & drums. The "Homo Erraticus" tunes are very diverse with all types of musical blends that make it lots of fun.
I believe the orchestral arrangements in April will probably be used in a LIVE recording so what's next? Ian Anderson gets political from time to time... "TEAR DOWN THE TRUMP WALL"? Probably not since the election should prevent such a disgrace... we all are praying for common sense.
Here's an idea, an album about famous women in history... "Ladies, Queens, & Presidents"

I thought Ian said something about an acoustical album of love gone bad songs, or the problems with love or something of the sort. Got to disagree about your reference to a wall being a bad thing though. It does make some sort of sense. It's not a racial thing you know.

Wond'ring again? Supporting this far-flung illusion; The story of Aqualung. Aqualung II (The Heavy Metal Album) Let The Begging Begin...those with no homes to go to, please dig yourself holes.

HE 2 - Tribus Erraticus109 - 105 BC The wandering tribes enter Gaul from Germany in 109 BC, causing chaos amongst the Celtic tribes there and rendering critical the situation in the region. It is almost certainly this invasion that sparks the migration of Belgic peoples from the Netherlands and northern Gaul into south-eastern Britain, although such a migration may already have started on a smaller scale. In 107 BC, a Roman defence against the Cimbri's allies, the Helvetii, at the Battle of Burdigala ends in defeat, further exacerbating the confused situation. www.historyfiles.co.uk/KingListsEurope/BarbarianTeutones.htm

Did he ever mention how long it took him to write HE? Going by his speed of writing (which I am unaware of) do you think it's a highly original piece written in 5-6 days? at the side of the swimming pool

Sometimes fear is worse. Regardless of the reasons it seems like a huge waste of money and bad for our image as a nation. I don't wake up with fear of those who are different and willing to risk everything to be here.
On a lighter note, it could be a tourist destination for those who haven't been to China or Berlin.

I've heard that on ski lifts, LOL.

Some 436,800 Hours have come and gone i64.images obliterated by tinypic/29lej3b.jpg[/IMG] Bearing in mind that this is the 50th we're not speculating enough here!! Will the pitchfork be put on the Hallstand and the passport in the drawer? Will this year have the last album and tour?

Will this year have the last album and tour? Nope. After consultations with Madam Finkelsdorf of Bavaria I can confidentially predict that retirement will happen in 2018 or soon after. Of course if Madam Finkelsdorf is incorrect then she didn't see it happening and I'll consult VOW (very old webby).

Good to hear the end is not too near...sad, considering how time flies...that we do have to prepare for the inevitable. I'm hoping for one more TAAB2/HE level album/tour.

teamrock.com/news/2016-09-22/jethro-tull-confirmed-for-be-prog-my-friend-festival?Jethro Tull confirmed for Be Prog! My Friend festivalNews / 2 hours ago / by Scott Munro Ian Anderson’s Jethro Tull will play next year’s Be Prog! My Friend festival in Barcelona Ian Anderson’s Jethro Tull have been confirmed for next year’s Be Prog! My Friend festival. The event will take place in Barcelona, Spain, between June 30 and July 1, 2017, with Tull joining the previously announced Ulver. Be Prog! My Friend organisers say: “Jethro Tull remain unstoppable thanks to the relentless spirit of charismatic frontman Ian Anderson. “After more than 40 years, Tull continue to delight audiences with their variety and depth of experience, giving fans – young and old – the best of folk, jazz and classically-inspired progressive rock music.” Further artists will be announced in due course, while tickets for the festival are currently on sale via Ticketmaster. Meanwhile, Parlophone will release Jethro Tull’s Stand Up: The Elevated Edition on November 18. The expanded version of the band's second album has been remixed by Steven Wilson in 5.1 surround and stereo. The collection offers bonus tracks and live footage from a concert in Sweden, where they opened for Jimi Hendrix in 1969. Anderson recently picked Stand Up as his favourite album, adding: "Because that was my first album of first really original music. It has a special place in my heart." Stand Up: The Elevated Edition can be pre-ordered on Jethro Tull's website.

Band-end-of-show-1977-1024x792.jpg
Early in 1968, a group of young British musicians, born from the ashes of various failed regional bands gathered together in hunger, destitution and modest optimism in Luton, North of London.
Benefit, Aqualung, and Thick As A Brick followed and the band’s success grew internationally. Various band members came and went, but the charismatic front man and composer, flautist and singer Ian Anderson continued, as he does to this day, to lead the group through its various musical incarnations.
Jethro Tull were, by the mid-seventies, one of the most successful live performing acts on the world stage, rivalling Zeppelin, Elton John and even the Rolling Stones. Surprising, really, for a group whose more sophisticated and evolved stylistic extravagance was far from the Pop and Rock norm of that era.
With now some 30-odd albums to their credit and sales totalling more than 60 million, the apparently uncommercial Tull have continued over the next three decades to travel near and far to fans across the world.
After forty years at the bottom, at the top and various points in between, Tull are still performing typically more than a hundred concerts each year. Ian Anderson remains at the centre of a group of sometimes changing but highly capable – indeed excellent – musicians. Together they continue the legacy of Tull’s music with its rich variety and depth of expression wherever fans, young and old, want to hear Rock, Folk, Jazz and Classical-inspired music for grown-ups.
