Hello. New to JT and the forum here.
I have listened to "Minstrel in the gallery", "Songs from the wood", "Heavy horses", most of the "Stand up" and random songs and I absolutely loved the band! They have influenced me in a good way.
I'd like to know what albums have positive mood in general. Perhaps there's an album breakdown by mood somewhere in the internet.

Interesting question. Most Tull albums have a huge gradient of moods...from cynical gloom to magical hope. Which album stand out ( up?) as the most cheerful/positive/chirpy? Benefit? Crest of a Knave ?

A warm welcome to the forum! I actually compiled a CD once, with Jethro Tull/Ian Anderson tunes that I considered positive... It turned out that it wasn't that easy... Most Ian Anderson tunes are just not happy... I called the CD, Happy Tull... Maybe we could persuade Ian to compile such a CD? Of course I just can't find the CD anymore, but I remember that some of the songs that I included had a happy feeling, but when examined and scrutinized, some of them just wasn't happy at all... Kelpie was one of them... I once knew a guy that told me that the only Jethro Tull album he liked was Songs From The Wood, because, in his opinion, it was the only happy album Jethro Tull had made...

Thank you all for greetings. Separate thanks for "The Third Hoorah". Kelpie is one of my favorite which I would call positive. I mean we don't have to understand the lyrics literally to the end, it may be about a regular guy seducing a girl Although there is a rather disturbing electric guitar part right after the flute solo. The flute solo can bring the feeling of apprehension too. Songs From The Wood is just pure magic.

The Kelpie is a deadly encounter... but the song seems to be happy... It always makes me happy anyway, but The Kelpie is very dangerous indeed... Maybe Ian has written the song in this cheerful way, because the Kelpie uses tactics of deception... link

I can't think of an album that has the same collective mood in all songs.
Each song has a different mood like this one which always sets me into a reflective mood.
