Saw them a day before yesterday...it all came back: the good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful. I saw them about 30 times between 73-81, once again in 84, once in 94 and once a day before yesterday. A long, strange trip. I wore JT 40 year shirt to the show!

I dunno, Graham...I'm starting to think if you live long enough, everything happens and it looks like coincidence.

I followed the Dead around for one summer after I graduated high school, I met Jerry and got a pic with him, here's the sad part, someone stole that pic of us together never to have that back again. I get disgusted every time I think about that! Jerry was such a kind-hearted, beautiful soul. The Dead seems to be an aquired taste for some, they do have some really cool songs though. Some of the shows I went to, when they got to their "space" parts where they just would play whatever for an hour, I will admit I dozed off a few times.

www.thehindu.com/entertainment/music/the-fuss-about-grateful-dead/article26611536.eceThe fuss about Grateful DeadNarendra Kusnur MARCH 22, 2019 20:23 Among classic rock fans, American group Grateful Dead has always evoked mixed reactions. There are some who wonder what the fuss is all about, and consciously stay away from them. On the other hand, there are the loyal devotees, called Deadheads, who are now collecting their work on vinyl. In that sense, Dead remains a cult band. From observation, one could assume that in India, the most Deadheads are found in Kolkata, followed by Bengaluru. Mumbai may be third, but this is just a wild, unproven conclusion. One may, however, safely say the number of Deadheads is much lower than fans of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Queen, Doors, Eagles, Eric Clapton, Santana or Jethro Tull. Link

Can anyone suggest an album to listen to, I don't know much about this band. I have Terrapin Station on CD, not much else though.

Live Dead and The other official live album, known as Skull and Roses give you a good taste. I've always liked Terrapin Station, too.
