How many of those five songs will be album-length songs like TAAB and APP? Long songs are standard in the farming community. You know how farmers are outstanding in their field, they get concentrating and before you know it, the field's been plowed, seeded, weeded, harvested and people have gone skiing for Christmas.

www.zak.de/Ian Anderson and his band come on 29 July 2016, following Balingen. Photo: press photo.BALINGEN, 08.10.2015Hard Rock meets FluteJethro Tull's Ian Anderson plays the marketplace open air The first artist to Balingen open-air summer 2016 is clear. And what a! Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson will bring the market place with his virtuoso flute game quake. from Benno Schlagenhauf www.zak.de/artikel/details/286012/Balingen-Hard-Rock-trifft-FloeteIn the almost 50 years of band history of British rock band Jethro Tull, the eccentric bandleader Ian Anderson joined his fellow musicians like other people her underwear. He himself was in all these years the only constant and permanent member since its foundation in 1967 among a total of more than 20 changing band members. Since it seems only logical that the 68-year-old Scot 2014 simply appears under his own name since the publication of the latest concept album homo erraticus. The audience on the Balingen Marktplatz expected on 29 July 2016 Songs from the recent concept album, which gives an outline of the British history. But of course, the old songs like Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll, Too Young To be or the Locomotive Breathe played this evening. The balancing act between nostalgia and the presence in the tour program was for the composer, lyricist and multi-instrumentalist Anderson obvious: "You must now work much harder to make the concert entertaining. As adults, however, we also tend to like to listen to music that we know. "The current show is therefore a compromise. The first 40 percent of the show are dedicated to the new album, the others 60 percent a best-of of Jethro Tull. Made famous as a singer and frontman of Jethro Tull Ian Anderson. Photo: press photoWith Jethro Tull Ian Anderson has created a musical niche: It is the only international rock band, in which the flute plays a major role. The virtuoso playing of Ian Anderson is the trademark of the band. Because of their unusual sounds are music critics disagree, which genre of music Andersons compositions include, as the music of Blues, Folk, Classic and Progressive Hard Rock is affected. For over four decades Anderson fabricated this unique mix of styles. The result of his creative work are 22 studio and live albums with ten Jethro Tull, and other albums, which he brought out as a solo artist. In its dominated by line-up changes the band's history frontman Anderson has always been committed to providing the best musicians to rally for his unusual musical ideas and compositions around. Accordingly, a highly professional manner are also live performances of the band. But at the concerts of the current tour, the audience expected not only musical but also visual delights. To stage show also includes an elaborate multimedia staging that should appeal to the eye next to the hearing. Info The concert on 29 July 2016, the Balingen Marktplatz starts by 20 clock; Doors open at 18 clock. Tickets in advance there is now exclusively in all offices of the Zollern-Alb-COURIER - for ZAK subscribers discounted advance rate. As of Monday, there are tickets for all other usual outlets.

Thanks for the redirect to the correct thread, time to fire the Forum Archivist. I can't believe that this tour will continue in 2016. It was a good idea with a new band to move onto new stuff like TAAB2 & HE, but a basically best of Tull tour at this point is a step or two back in the wrong direction to me.

Deutschland Rocks with TULL !!!! TOUR LINK Back in the future Ian Anderson: new production of the music of Jethro Tull in autumn 2016 Ian Anderson brings the music of Jethro Tull in autumn 2016 German stages - in the form of a conceptioned as multimedia concert / play "rock opera". Before that there are still some open-air performances in the summer 2016
Every year goes Ian Anderson on tour in Germany. The 2016 will even see two types of appearances. In the summer of 2016 Ian Anderson plays songs from his latest album "Homo Erraticus" and the usual Jethro Tull classics.
More musical theater It is in autumn 2016 with the new staging Really interesting "Jethro Tull - Performed By Ian Anderson". Visitors of the last tours already know roughly what they are letting themselves: Video recordings of guest musicians, short films, rehearsed scenes at all sorts of places, humourous and absurd - typical Ian Anderson precisely.
This time is the story of the namesake of the band, the agricultural economist Jethro Tull at the center of the performance. Transported into the present means that the multimedia theater / concert show by a "high-tech biochemist who want to solve the food problem of a rapidly growing world population through cloning of plants".
Classics and new compositions Here Ian Anderson used the classics of the band of "Aqualung" to "Heavy Horses", "lyrically slightly modified, but in arrangements, as the songs were originally recorded," says Anderson. There are five new songs. In addition to his usual band, two new musicians on board: Unnur Birna Björnsdóttir (vocals, violin) and Greig Robinson (Bass).
As Anderson was faced with criticism, he sang only 30% of the texts, he recently published a statement on his website in which he made clear that he has the vocal lines meticulously analyzed and still sings about 70% of the vocals.
The tour starts on 18 November 2016 Magdeburg and ends on 28 November in Nuremberg. In the Rhine-Neckar region Anderson will occur on November 23 in Mannheim Rosengarten.

I hope there is a part 3...these dates bring them no closer than 1200 miles form my doorstep. And nowhere in this batch that would be a reasonable vacation destination/ home of Tull friends. DAMN. I think as long as they sell tickets, there is a good chance they add west coast and northwest so i can see them local and with my sister in Seattle. I live in hopes ( as well as fear and self-pity).
