Hello all! Still tired after the XIII convention, I will write a few lines to explain my point of view on the convention, although for us, the organization has not yet ended. This was undoubtedly one of the most mediatic from the Ian Anderson's presence at our IX convention. Gava TV and many radio stations have discussed about the convention before and after in this section to thank Albert, Adolfo and Xavi who had to attend various programs, and even a parliament scheduled by the city of Gava to explain who is Jethro Tull (summary of the history of the band) and to talk about our cultural association "Tullianos" which has already become one of the main events of the Gava festivities. My thanks to all Tullianos partners have once again set an example of coexistence between people from so many different parts of Spain and also to our unconditional fans Portuguese English, French, Italians and throughout Europe in general. A year more without a single incident. Special thanks to all guest musicians who have attended our convention, and we now consider our friends. Perhaps the best description of what is Tullianos, aside from a cultural association, I would say that is a big family. School Big Band (from Viladecans) combo of teenagers, was the pleasant surprise of the night and the future of Tull music Maartin Allcock and Jerry Cutillo, think it is not necessary to present. Maart confirmed to us that this recording the next album with Yusuf / Cat Stevens Take 3, folk legend Jacqui McShee (Pentagle) Gerry Conway and multi-instrumentalist Alan Thomson, who has confirmed us his presence on the Martin Barre's USA Tour. To close the night the magnificent Cold Flame, I was lucky to be in charge to inviting them, I have to say I knew Pat (Cold Flame leader) from this forum. Cold Flame is not just a cover band, but rather also play songs Tull. I can only take gratitude to all them and say that they have "left the bar very high", the english people from this forum that I think are most can be proud of this band, of course recommend it to everyone. I talked to Pat to make us a review on the forum, I'm sure he will be able to explain better than I, and more objectively, "as is the Tullianos Convention" Oops I forgot to thank Jim, who posted the above photos in real time Greetings from Anderson Gava TV, speaks Jacqui McShee, Gerry Conway and Alan Thomson Attention to Alan's words www.gavatv.cat/estem-de-festa/capitol/xiii-convencio-de-tullianosWhen an event reaches the 13th year is a sign that things are done well, and especially there is public interest. This is the case of the convention tullianos, fans of the group Jethro Tull, Gava who have turned in their reference point. What was needed out in the auditorium Marc Grau to verify that, once again, has been a success. Report: Joseph A. Moreno Under wraps II Instrumental cover Live Tullianos 2015 Cristóbal Vergara y Paco Jiménez By Victor Ruiz and edited / uploaded by Paco Jimenez BIG BAND VILADECANS COMBO ADOLESCENTS TARDA By Juan Angel Guerra By jasonesteve Cold Flame - Mainland Blues By Joe Orban My personal thanks to Marc, Cold Flame flutist, who speaks perfect Spanish, great person, great musician and great assistant lol! Thank you Marc! A lot of pictures are being posted on facebook, I will post some taken by me or another with my camera. Gradually will publish photos and videos, all the convention was recorded with two cameras so some of my recordings will not be available until the video is mounted. I will publish the full convention when the video is ready. With Pat Cold Flame Leader With Paco and Jerry Cutillo "working" charging membership fees, and tickets for lunch with Txell Blanch and Eduardo Martinez * Attention to the upcoming publication of "A New Day" Pat from Cold Flame will make a summary of the conventionFor all this and many other things... thanks again to the guys from Cold Flame!!! So impressed by the vibe and community of Tullianos...Yet another magic get together that goes into the books of Tull history. Hard to read reports as I had so hoped to go to this one and ended up chickening out due to the root of all evil: $$$$$.

13th Spanish Tull Convention 2015 - JUNE 27 2015 Mention Spain and Jethro Tull in the same breath and its most likely that the next thought might well be Tullianos that enthusiastic ever green and highly regarded Spanish Tull Fan Club based in and around Barcelona. Their annual Spanish Tull Conventions have been highly enjoyable, well organised events renowned throughout the Tull fan world. Brilliant opportunities for lovers of Tull music from across Europe to come along, listen to, and mingle with members of Jethro Tull past and present as well as many other esteemed musicians. So popular have these annual events become that both Ian Anderson and Martin Barre have headlined and returned for more.Hardly surprising then the high praise being heaped annually from both fans and musicians alike. Saturday June 27th 2015 saw Tullianos presenting their 13th Convention held in the Marc Grau Auditorium, Gava near Barcelona. Appearing on the bill this year were Take Three featuring Gerry Conway[Tull,Fairport Convention] Jacquie McShee[Pentangle] and Alan Thompson [Martin Barre Band], the dynamic duo of Maartin Allcock [ Tull, Fairport Convention] and Jerry Cortillo [Oak the Italian Tull tribute band] Cristobel and Friends featuring Tullianos members , who performed Tull covers as well as some Spanish tunes, Viladecans School of Music Big Band ...and Cold Flame. Yeah well... having turned down one invitation several years ago to appear at such a prestigious event due to the then flute player's fear of flying, I was determined to ensure that this time, the band would be on that plane. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Marc Grau Auditorium, it is a large open air arena highlighted by a hillside incline so everyone has great seats able to see the stage area no matter where you happen to sit. This works very well in Spain because it doesn't tend to rain. With a busy morning under a baking sun where band members soundchecked whilst hard working Tullianos chaps sweated profusely in ensuring everything was ready, it was then back to Tullianos HQ the wonderful Flora Parc Hotel [http://www.floraparc.com] for a leisurely dip in the pool, a cup of tea and some sliced cucumber sandwiches. In many ways the Convention celebrations began the moment we touched down in Barcelona being met by our ever supportive driver Xavi Folch resplendent in his Glenn Cornick style red bowler hat and continued throughout the weekend till we said our goodbyes on the Sunday afternoon but I guess the main event was the concert itself which began around tea time on the Saturday just as the heat was dropping down to a manageable 25 degrees and the large crowd were already settling in their seats for the evening's main event. Cristobel and Friends opened up followed quickly by the Big Band. Both acts went down really well. Several Tull tunes expertly and enthusiastically played. Maartin Allcock and Jerry Cortillo's set featured original songs from both musicians as well as a couple of covers including the King Crimson classic Moonchild. It was a great set. Jerry is a terrific flautist and Maartin's prowess as a musician has always been of the highest order. The three piece Take Three followed featuring the wonderful haunting vocals of Jacquie McShee ably supported by Gerry Conway on a variety of percussive devices and Alan Thompson for once reverting to acoustic guitar with vocal backing rather than the bass guitar. Everyone loved their set which lent on tunes taken from their recent Take Three album. On the strength of this performance, I really would recommend you all go out and buy the album - you wont be disappointed. Finally it was Cold Flame's turn to take to the stage in an almost two hour set that began at 11.25pm because I checked my watch and noted it was still around 22 degrees. It was a real treat for the band to be joined on stage towards the end of our set by Gerry Conway, Jerry Cortillo and Tullianos stage manager . I can hardly review the band's performance but I can tell you that I loved every minute of it not least because those hard working sound guys really did a top class job and the audience was highly appreciative. From memory , the Cold Flame setlist was ...Jiggerypokery*/ Wind Up/ Serenade to a Cuckoo/ We used to know/ Mainland Blues/ Play in Time/ Mainland Blues/ Mother Goose/ Dharma for One/ Thick as a Brick/ Bouree/ Pibroch/ Living is for Loving*/ New Day Yesterday/ Aqualung/ Locomotive Breath. * marked are Cold Flame originals. Throughout the weekend, the emphasis was on everyone being united almost like a big family reunion. From our hotel base in Gava which housed all the musicians as well as many of the members of Tullianos we spent most of the time when not on stage, mingling with our hosts and new found friends in an atmosphere that held no barriers regardless of the occasional difficulties in understanding a range of European languages. My lasting memory of the Convention can perhaps be summed up by the word camaraderie - friends from across the globe brought together by their appreciation of the music of Jethro Tull. It was a real honour both to perform for Tullianos at this year's Convention and to meet the people behind the fan club whose attention to detail and interest in ensuring that everyone was both welcome and all needs attended to was top notch. I would like to list a whole host of names associated with Tullianos who made the weekend such a success but would probably miss a few names off the list. However, deserving of very special mention are Tullianos President Albert Villaneuva, Remy Tena Garcia, Xavi Folch and not forgetting Martin Driver and actor and vocalist extraordinaire - Jose Melon. Long may these guys and the rest of the Tullianos team fly a Spanish flag that is covered in flutes. Do check out the Tullianos website www.tullianos.com as well as their face book page www.facebook.com/groups/45268608735 Interested in downloading official photos from the Convention then follow this link tullianos.com/…/141-13-convencion-27…/923-fotografiasCheers...Patrick ps.Thank you Bunkerfan for your support in liking the vids. Thanks for the comments Forum users - much appreciated. All I can say really is that one weekend just wasn't enough.I did not want to get back on that plavne on Sunday and would gladly have remained a few more days with our hosts from Tullianos. If you lot on the Tull Forum have the opportunity next year to visit Spain, I seriously recommend you time it when the 2016 Tullianos Convention takes place. You will love it no question. Meantime having made so many new friends whilst over there for the Convention, I'm going back in September just to meet up with some of the guys, share a few beers and cucumber sarnies whilst talking Tull till the small wee hours. That's what friendship is all about and thats why this Forum is important. Keeping friends in touch with each other. Cheers everyone..P.

Although I have thanked Pat in due course for this post that came to me through email, again thanks to Pat publically for his words, as I said in my response to his email, "I just read your letter of thanks and I have to say that you put me goosebumps ", actually I ran out of words, is not only appreciated his music but also his good integration with all members of Tullianos and I think we made a friendship that goes beyond music, and of course I recommend going to see them to all forum members resident in UK. Hi all, I probably should have done this before but for different reasons (especially my back*, most of my friends already know but my PM and my email are available to all forum members) has not been possible, surely I should have done an effort and say "Hi, I'm fine!", so I apologize to all, I was just waiting for the moment to return with some regularity... the most important thing now is that I'm back and I'll try to finish this thread that I left half done. **Drs have to put me three titanium plates in the vertebrae, more or less where the back loses its name, so I have very reduced my hours in front of a PC Another big culprit has been Windows 10 , since the update I had to reinstall it four times!, most recently this past week ... I hope it's the last. Come up with Martin & Jerry Cutillo Maart and Jerry played several more songs, these are chosen at random, probably later I will upload the entire concert. Tomorrow more with Take 3 Take 3 - Light Flight, Live At Tullianos Convention 2015
