One Billion Chinese people studiously ignoring our forum. What's wrong with those people? No wonder their cultural revolution went awry if they ignore Tull.

Snap shot of the locator map at the bottom of the page. 10,526 visits since Aug 2, 2016 Interesting! You know, I started this thread because I wanted to invite people from all over the world to post something on The Jethro Tull Forum, but flags can be treacherous... Some people may dislike being defined as a specific individual that belongs under a banner that doesn't define who they really think they are... Having that in mind, I will now play a song that John Lennon wrote so many years ago... An interesting song by the way. A dream about a better world, and a plan to back it up. Of course the goal is very hard to achieve, since there will always, to some extent, be opposing powers to what we want, and what we don't want. Thus locked into battle conflicts erupts around the world. John Lennon sees a problem in religion, and probably wants to draw our attention to the problems that also arise with the different beliefs systems of God, but to me the idea of God, is a fantastic idea. Religion can be defined in many different ways. First of all, religion uses, if I may, fantasy to change individuals perception of the world, feelings and behavior. The human brain cannot distinguish between a real danger and a imagined danger. So if we constantly think about something in a fearful way, we will eventually get scared, even if our thoughts has nothing to do with reality, and is pure imagination. This opens up for a possible "new" psychology where fantasies are used to restore hope and happiness. A religious "fantasy" can help in many ways. The dying man who is happy because he firmly believes that he is very close to a reunion with his late wife in heaven. Because of this belief, he manages to die with a smile on his face. So these "fantasies" have a real effect on the lives of so many people around the world. The problem is that some of these "fantasies" are aggressive and dividing, instead of uniting. It can of course be argued that they are not fantasies, but real evidence of Gods existence, and that is a possibility, but a possibility that hasn't been verified yet, but it hasn't been dismissed either. The fact remain that it is possible to event new kinds of fantasies in order to shape a new kind of psychology with inspiration from the religions of the world. Religion should lift people. It should cultivate a better us. (I'm coming back to John Lennon...okay it may take a while...) I'm not very fond of the religious belief that some people go to hell. My concern is that this way of thinking can be the forerunner for intolerance and cruelty towards others. It is easier to kill a perceived demon, than to kill a perceived saint. Anyway, I think that john Lennon is thinking about the bad aspects of religion, and that he sees that religion in so many cases has divided us, and not united us. So, if religion is a barrier that stops human progress and happiness, then this barrier must be brought down. "No religion too." Countries and borders that divide us, and makes us think of ourselves as Danish, English, German etc.etc. This dualistic perception of the world is constantly creating conflicts. If utopia can be found, the countries and borders must make way for a united federation of the planet earth... Really?? Okay, 'cause I got a little scared here... It kind of sounded like a new Soviet Union... ...

Hello to all of our visitors who have visited us over the last few weeks - exotic places such as Greenland, Cambodia, Kyrgzstan, Guatemala and all points in between. You're all very welcome and it's good to see how genuinely international the Forum's popularity has become.

This is what happens when the political establishment ignores the ordinary people... this kind of "leadership" has in my opinion paved the way for someone like Donald Trump. Americas "let them eat cake politics" is very dangerous indeed...
God bless America!

Not really Equus, this is from a roast, a great yearly tradition here in the states. Obama always killed it at these functions. Trump however, at the latest Catholic Charity roast very recently was seen to have missed the mark with his mean spirited remarks about half way through, although he got off a great zinger or 2 about Melania's plagarizing Michelle Obama's speech. It's at 8:20. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nrh4leBehN8

I like to be proven wrong, because I believe that it represents an opportunity to dismantle misunderstandings and therefore an opportunity to move forward... but what exactly do you mean?

A 'Roast' is a light-hearted and usually fun event where in this case politicians and others can make fun of each other.
Appearing Friday morning on CNN’s New Day, Al Smith V told host John Berman that after Trump said during his speech that Hillary Clinton “is tonight in public pretending not to hate Catholics,” the room became palpably “uncomfortable,” because the joke “didn’t go over very well.” LINK

May you prevail against international terrorism! Despicable. Thoughts to all who are suffering in the world of today. Absolutely... and by the way... Focusing on some atrocities and not all of the others, is really not right, but it's just so overwhelming nowadays... We would have to create a whole new forum if we should write about it all... and Jethro Tull is, and should be the real focus of this forum... Just think about the people fighting "The Islamic State" in Iraq and Syria... May you be safe too! Terrorism in Jordan... People starving... Women who are mistreated, killed, raped... We could go on and on and on... It's despicable... So if I haven't mentioned you in this post, and if you are out there struggling to survive... It's not because we don't care about you, and your very real struggles... May you be safe! Peace on earth, and mercy mild...

May you prevail against international terrorism! As a peace-loving person I'm appalled at this despicable act of murder against innocent people enjoying a Christmas market. I'll never understand what drives anybody to carry out such an evil act as this. People of Germany, I'm thinking of you all at this sad time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the British people... May you prevail against these evil child murderers... Expect no mercy!! The Bishop of Manchester, the Rt Rev. David WalkerToday, Tuesday 23 May, is a day to mourn the dead, to pray with their families and with the injured, and to reaffirm our determination that those who murder and maim will never defeat us. Like other great cities, Manchester is an obvious target for terrorists to choose. What makes this latest atrocity particularly dreadful is the deliberate choice of a concert known to attract very young fans. Many lives will be lived out, impacted by this tragedy for long years to come. Others have had decades of life ripped away from them. There is a proper anger and rage in the face of events like this. Our challenge will be to direct that rage and anger to be a force for good. We will rally around the victims and their families. We will unite across our diversity, drawing close especially to any that the terrorists would seek to separate us from. And we will rebuild and repair the damage to our city, as we have done before. Today is a day to mourn, and I would ask churches throughout Greater Manchester and beyond to make space and time for people who wish to come into their buildings and pray. But today is also a day to begin our response. A response that will crush terrorism not by violence but by the power of love.

To even imagine kissing your child ( or waving at the little snot) goodbye as they go off to a pop concert with their friends...and some don't come back, innocent victims of sub humans, who, to paraphrase their propaganda 'love death as we love life', is unthinkable. I would not perpetuate the cycle by wishing them the same sadness they have caused, via deaths of innocent children, ....but if there is anything I could do to prevent them from achieving their 'goals' via terrorist acts, or if I could flip the switch to give them the death penalty....I would. I realize that the Western powers are killing a lot of innocent victims too....but will bombs in Manchester help anyone, anywhere in any way ?

I feel disgusted and angry and there's no point in anger. I can't imagine how the parents are feeling. The UK is understandably very subdued just now. The city was very quiet yesterday.

"We love death, more than life." What a STUPID way to think... What have you gained when your head catapults ten meters in the air, and you are gone, gone, gone? Absolutely nothing... but believe this... You are not going to heaven!
