re: In Memory of Glenn Cornick (video tribute)
I received a touching comment on YouTube about the above tribute video that I thought I would share with this group. It is from Glenn Cornick's son, Alex Cornick:
"thanks for all of this i never knew my dad was so famous"
Thank you for this wonderful video tribute Robert! It's a very nice thing to do!

My small tribute to Glenn Cornick. Mr. Cornick was truly a musical force of nature, and an essential founding member of Jethro Tull. (by Robert Gilmore) In Memory Of Glenn Cornick Well done Robert. A fitting tribute to the great man.

Ian Anderson: Remembering Glenn Cornick
Published on 12 November 2014 by Drew Cornick
Several weeks before the Musical Storytellers: A Memorial for Glenn Cornick event, I had the opportunity to meet with Ian Anderson in Southern California before one of his shows to record a memorial tribute to my father. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly blown away by the kindness Ian exhibited allowing me to video tape him remembering my father. Ian and I were able to share nearly an hour of memories and stories that allowed me to learn and understand more of my father. Here is a shortened version of our conversation.

What a lovely video tribute. Ian seems very relaxed and not surprisingly has some beautiful words to share. I like the part about the memories in his head and heart.
Thank you Drew for sharing it with us.

Tremendous, warm and touching tribute to Glenn from a relaxed, thoughtful and happy Ian. I've never met Ian but had the pleasure of speaking at great length with Glenn at a picnic in Downey Ca., in the middle of a vacant baseball diamond, sometime in the mid 70's. It was an annual family gathering for Glenn and my brother happened to date one of Glenn's cousins. Our family was invited and I was the only brother that made it. I was blown away to learn that Glenn was at the picnic so I walked off to try a get a minute or two with him. What a great and open person, as Ian said, Glenn was and seemed more than happy (although well after Glenn's departure from Tull)and flattered that a fan like me would be so excited and interested in spending at least an hour with him talking all things Tull. I have always thought that Glenn was a tremendous part of early Tull and one of the best bass players I've ever heard.

A special link from Michele(Chea)... :DTuesday, December 13, 2011 It's Psychedelic Baby! LINK 8-)Glenn Cornick interview about Jethro Tull, Wild Turkey...
Interview: 1. You played bass in a number of bands before joining Jethro Tull, including Jailbreakers, The Vikings, Formula One, The Hobos, The Executives, and John Evan's Smash. I know that The Executives did release some singles, right? But I am not sure for the other bands. Can you help me out?
Glenn Cornick - I did one single with the Executives - it might have been called 'Lock your Door'. I don't remember much of it. That was the first real recording that I had ever made. Later, in 66 or early 67 we did some recordings with Derek Lawrence as John Evan Smash and they have since been released as the Derek Lawrence Sessions as it was the nucleus of the Jethro Tull Band. Other than those, there aren't any other early recordings. 8-|Check out the link... 8-|http://psychedelicbaby.blogspot.it/2011/12/glenn-cornick-interview-about-jethro.html
