Having made a few posts now, I thought I should make one in this section, so hello! I'm obviously new here but have been a Tull fan for a long time now, one of the constants in my life, an old friend of sorts. The second, I suppose was ELP as Keith Emerson was such a standard to try to meet and of course The Beatles. I always loved the British Invasion period.
I'm a musician, primarily a keyboardist now, started as a drummer and also play guitar. I studied composition in college and like to orchestrate though I am torn between classical and yet playing rock. I teach private music students. Small modest home studio as I have no wish to buy anymore music equipment at this point as one thing begets the next and so on. Still have and play my Yamaha acoustic from when I was 15 (I'm 59 now) and a set of Ludwig's from when I was 10. Never saw any need to replace them as I am attached to them as they are a link to my childhood. Three vintage synths, cheapie Ibanez electric, more than enough. Never understood the music store in a house types nor keyboardists with those big tiers. I use a K2600 live period (not presently playing out) and it's more than adequate as I sampled the analogs into it. But enough of that...
Two adult kids, happily married 39 years now.
It is nice to meet other Tull fans who remember the great days!
My favorite Tull album is "Passion Play" with "Songs From The Wood" being a close second, "Stormwatch" third. Attended the shows, loved them! I really like the 20 and 25 year box sets and listen a lot to the "Chateau" tapes which are amazing and, of course, were pre Passion Play. I have all the original vinyls. I'm very fond of the "Bursting Out" LP as that was my favorite Tull line-up and era!
Went to Tabb2, going to Homo Erraticus in Nov-DC.
Best wishes and kind regards.

Thanks Patti! I'll be looking at those threads this weekend for sure while I'm off on a weekend trip going with my son to his regionals for Team USA Paralympic tryouts (discus, shot and 100 meters) so will have hotel down time for sure as I sleep like crap in hotels :^). The forum will help fill it. Thanks again! (trying to pack before the inevitable 1 AM plus mad rush -never seems to work though)

Thanks John, I'm Chuck and nice to meet you! When I saw that your name is Chuck I immediately thought of one of my favourite TV programmes when I was a kid. Anyone else remember Chuck & PT?

Thanks John, I'm Chuck and nice to meet you! When I saw that your name is Chuck I immediately thought of one of my favourite TV programmes when I was a kid. Anyone else remember Chuck & PT? You perhaps are referring to that Chuck TV show from a while back that was on the US? To tell you the truth I never watched it maybe purposely because my name gets on my nerves somewhat :^) never really grew into Charles save for when I sign scores that way when I feel like being academic on rare occasions, or of course bills, online orders etc.
I assumed you to be from the UK based on how you spelled "programmes" as that is, of course, a UK-ism. I have no idea what PT is other than Physical Therapy which would be a boring tv show were it one. But that Are You Being Served show with Mrs Slocum used to crack me up as well as whatever the show was that had "the Bucket woman" in it. The one where she drove everyone crazy putting on airs. Very funny!
I have never gotten overseas yet and always have wanted to spend time in England as I have sought over your country for decades from pictures, history, music and the like.
I, amusingly, even wanted at one point to adopt a received pronunciation accent but never could do it right. No American can pull off an English accent, well I guess some can better than others. Perhaps one day I'll get to visit there (I haven't even gotten a passport yet, goodness).
Silly but I always imagined that Green and Pleasant Land, being lost in it. I don't think I could drive on the left side of the road though without seriously screwing up.
I have The Avengers box set. I loved that show when I was a kid! John Steed, the perfect gentleman and Mrs Peel was Mrs Peel. But I used to love the scenes of him driving through the English countryside.
My son is friends with "The Script" from Dublin. Maybe one day we'll get to come over.
If Ian would ever hire me for a stint I could come faster :^)
Thanks again and take care!

Whew blast from the past. There was another American helicopter show, but I'm not sure it's worth mentioning.
Heydee Chuck! I'm Ron from Jersey. More of a lurker than a very active member, but you are right, this is quite an awesome forum.
Be well, and be welcome!
