This is getting funny. "Oh, I just don't know...." Funny comments so far. The "Homo" album. "Homo Live". an avalanche, but funny. I just hope they don't rush it in the studio, and have a few rounds of Talisker to make sure it has every chance to be realized as passionate live stage music, and get WAY past the blueprint stage. Way past, like what 1989 was to 1394. And what musical spices shall we guess it will have? Some funky sound effects? Ambient sounds? Lute? How about slide ukulele? How about more harmonica? I'd really like more harmonica in a non-blues manner. Calliope? Tenor recorders, please! If it has Tibetan bowls at any point, I'm buying three copies and tell everyone about it. You can quote me on that.

I read Homo Britannicus a few years ago - quite interesting (if you're into that sort of thing!). Only problem was, sat with it on the train, I felt just a little self conscious that folk would think I was reading a book about, er, sexual preferences ....... Daft I know, but I guess that ties in with some of the other comments above! I think it would be great if the album triggered a not direct but not too far off reference to that book, in order to expand interest in some of the history of the Brit Isles. Newgrange works better than a Timex. Boudicca. The Tor. So many very ancient stories and cultural history that deserve to be appreciated. Maiden Castle. The list is long.

Hello to all. I am very, very anxious to get the new works of Ian and the band. 2 TAAB has had good success, and was performed almost all over the world, live, and then the curiosity 'to' Homo erraticus "on my part is huge.

Waiting for new Ian Anderson material drives us bonkers most of the time - knowing that its arrival will be next year, well we're all over the edge now - ALL IN A GOOD WAY for sure. God bless JohnN

Why didn't Ian just call it "A Passion Play 2"? Ian Anderson should put out an album titled Jethro Tull - put the old seed driller on the cover, and confuse all store clerks as to where to file this Ian Anderson Jethro Tull album. Yes, an album or song focused on thanking the old geezer Jethro Tull for inventing the seed drill. Funny enough, for years after reading that, I was trying to figure out why anyone would want to drill into a seed and how small the drill would have to be. Was it attached to a microscope? How did they hold the seed still? Then, when I understood agriculture better, I realized it was a machine that drilled a hole in the ground to better plant the seeds in, for reliable planting technique. I know, very not with it around the farm. But I have lots of agriculture in the family history, so I'm not totally lost around farm house banter.

If this album causes controverises because a creationist complains about the title I'm going to either:
a- laugh my ass off b- be very scared c- both
On my part, I don't think it's a good title, but then, I was annoyed when they announced "Thick as a Brick 2". After listening to it, anyway, I thought it was a good album (even if I still think the name of the record was not artistically a good one) and when I saw it performed in concert I thought it was even better. So, I'm going to wait until this comes out before commenting. As for now, November 2013, all I can say is I'm very excited that the new album will come out so soon after the last one and I very much look forward to it. Way to go, Ian!

That would be wonderful piece of Spinal Tap And if Also sprach Zarathustra was played over the PA while the band were walking onto the stage then all the better.

Amazing News: Homo heidelbergensis www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/archaeology/10495222/Oldest-DNA-obtained-from-human-ancestor.html The oldest DNA from a relative of modern humans has been extracted from a 400,000 year old thigh bone.
Scientists recovered the genetic material from bones thought to belong to a now extinct species of early human known as Homo heidelbergensis, a relative of Neanderthals.
However, the DNA has shown that the ancient hominin shares similarities to another group of human ancestor known as the Denisovans.
The results shed light on some of the complex movements of early human species around the world. While Neanderthals evolved in Europe, Denisovans lived in Asia.
“This unexpected result points to a complex pattern of evolution in the origin of Neanderthals and modern humans,” said Professor Juan-Luis Arsuaga, director of the Centre for Research on Human Evolution and Behaviour. Now that makes "Homo Erraticus" sound a lot easier to say or spell. It's tough remembering all our ancestors.

Which one can we thank for Oktoberfest? Actually, I bet I could take a camera downtown and take photos of people looking like each of the three in one day. Everyone likes Oktoberfest!
So, the announcement came out a week or so ago, who's got the album and what do you think?

As for the monolith idea, didn't we see in a documentary how the live monolith on stage concept can get awkward? I mean, just how big do you want it to get?

Excelente Amigo. It is so cool to find our ancestors are very close to where some of us live today. I'm still learning thanks to evolution. I would love to dig up a few missing links around here too. We must have some Tull DNA as well.

Ian always said he liked the Ramones...and they clammored to meet and admire him at some festival. HEY HO (MO) LET'S GO. Ian has also said he likes Foreigner and some other rubbish, I forget what. I am sure they are very professional, but they suck, and have zero spiritual enrichment. As to the Ramones, god knows they have got so much more time in the sun than their talent merits. What they deserve is an asterisk forgotten by history. As it is they are an institution. Yes they are ok. Barely. But the deal was, as I recall it, that their Mom was a big Tull fan, and Ian met some or all of them and I think one or more, maybe Joey, as many Ramones names as I need to know, "admitted" to being a Tull fan. I would be alot more impressed if Ian said he was a fan of the likes of Don Pullen, a man who knew actual fire, not that by turning your amplifier up to ten and assuming the stance. O. His goes to eleven. I mean can it get any more base, more lowest common denominator. Not nearly as funny as any of ten of his housecats. I really vacillate alot on Tull these days. Much of what I love I have just heard too damn much and seeing the amount of RepubliCONS who find resonance with Tull on Facebook is unsettling. Or that want to sing the praises of Rush, ELP, people absolutely unwilling to go beyond their safety net. But finally my love for Tull is such that I suspect it is as deep in my DNA as anyone not named Ian Anderson. But god knows they can bore the bejeezus out of me. Not something I would say of anyone else in my "holy sextet."

Excellent show today with Prog God 2013 Ian Anderson on The Prog Magazine Show with Philip Wilding. I was hearing some extra special Tull tunes as well as Ian making the most of what seemed a very cool thing. He was very complimentary of printed rock mags in general and accepting the Prog God Award was a nice way to show support. I won't spoil the rest but there is some great stuff to hear with this interview. Today's show will be available on Monday for 7 Days with this link... www.teamrockradio.com/shows/the-prog-magazine-show
