I went into this show with a little bit of reservation, not the high expectations I usually have before a Jethro Tull show. After all why is Ian Anderson making TAAB2 and touring it packaged with the infamous TAAB all without the Jethro Tull name behind it and without his long time mate Martin Barre? Well after the spotlight hit Ian and I heard the familiar refrain "I really don't mind if you sit this one out..." I knew my thoughts of anything less than perfection were just plain silly. It was clear that Jethro Tull had allways been the Ian Anderson show regardless of the immense contribution of Martin Barre, who in my heart is as much a part of Jethro Tull as Ian. I would lke to think that Ian feels that too and that's at least partly why he wasn't billing this as Jethro Tull. But I digress the show was as good as any Tull show I have seen and as with every version of Jethro Tull the band was Top notch many being Tull alumni. The addition of a second singer and key actor in the broadway type production couldn't have worked better either. And what a production it is, the full satire of TAAB comes shining through in a show that's a head on collision between a Jethro Tull concert and a Monty Python show. It is truly a Jethro Tull show not to be missed even if it not Jethro Tull, so for those of you who might have passed it by for any Jethro Tull type issues you missed out...and for any who still have the chance and are debating it ,run don't walk to get your tickets. The encore of Locomotive breath was also exceptional I really liked how as it was winding up with "no way to slow down" Ian and his young protégé traded off the lyric ,it added a touch never heard before. I was very glad to catch Ian in good humor again last time with Jethro Tull I caught him on a night I'm sure he would have sooner been elsewhere (see regina 2011 review) Lets all just keep our fingers crossed that Ian and Martin will soon grace us with another tour together who cares how the bill it . ps if you get a chance grab the program along with all the usual goodness you get ull lyrics to both albums

I was very glad to catch Ian in good humor again last time with Jethro Tull I caught him on a night I'm sure he would have sooner been elsewhere (see regina 2011 review) Like all Headmasters, a bit grumpy on the odd occasion. Nothing like waiting outside the headmaster's study after morning assembly, on a trumped up charge of doing some misdemeanour - me sir? Never

Thanks for the review. Call them The Ian Anderson Band or call them Jethro Tull, be my guest, just don't forget to call them great.

Jethro Tull or Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull, either way it's Jethro Tull music at its very best and I for one am so grateful that we've all had the chance to see and hear TAAB 1 & 2 performed by musicians that are of the highest calibre fronted by the best musician of all time. Long Live Ian.
