i would like to ask IA, are there any tapes of live performances (from the soundboard) from the 1970s which you have in your possession and, if so, would you ever release them,?

Being a guitarist myself, I'd love to sit around and talk some guitar with Martin. Not sure what I'd ask about specifically. Kinda curious how he felt about the writing and arranging of A Passion Play. This is by no means a rip on APP, which I love, but Martin seems way less prominent on that record than on any other Tull album that came before the synth-heavy era.
If I could chat with Ian, I'd love to discuss Benefit with him and some of the interesting song structures on there. On a pretty typical note, I'd also ask why certain tunes (from a variety of albums) have been played little or not at all live.

One day I'd love to ask James and Gael what it was like growing up with a rock star in the family.

How many times did Fairport Convention members beg Jethro Tull to play "Matty Groves" live? Were there fisticuffs?

As a drummer myself I remember going to my first Jethro Tull gig which was Thick as a Brick. I'd been practicing the whole piece just in case Barrimore Barlow took poorly and they made an announcement " is there a drummer in the house" and I would shout back " "I'll come and play for you Mr Anderson". Ok dream over but I would like to ask James Duncan what he felt like when he got the call to play Thick as a Brick 1&2 recently. I bet he was excited especially when he's always in the wings at Ian's concerts. You never know I might meet him again at The Sage and ask him myself.

I would ask the question that has never, ever, ever, ever been asked: 'Excuse me Mr Pegg, may I buy you a drink ?'

A question from our new member - faintingeagle I am a more recent Tull fan, and in watching some live footage from the Isle of Wight Festival in 1970. I couldn't help but notice Ian Anderson's yellow tights, loin cloth, and a ripped jacket/robe.
I guess my question is, does any one know the story behind this outfit? or at least the reason for the ripped smoking jacket/robe? haha
Thanks You'll just have to stick aroung faintingeagle for the next Q&A

Ian, Do you go round the house playing the flute on Xmas day in a scene reminiscent of a Victorian Xmas card? Serenading Mrs A as she stuffs the turkey? An accompaniment as the grandkiddies open the presents - wearing a Santa hat? i68.images obliterated by tinypic/2mdgroo.jpg[/IMG]
