This review has some interesting points about the set list during an outdoor type performance. I actually like many of the instrumentals they have played over the years. In general I prefer just to see Tull without any other group and have 2 sets with an encore. For years I remember shows with an opening act which were usually less than exceptional. The 1993 tour with Procol Harum and The Chieftains in 2000 were actually very good combinations. Of course a Fairport Convention/Tull combo makes great sense to me. As far as the jokes getting stale, who cares? I laugh at everything Ian says onstage. ;D "I looked at it and it was gruesome. And as I looked, it grew some more."

Hmmmm......Yes, Livingston Taylor, Gentle Giant, Capt. Beefheart, The Eagles, Tir Na Nog, Steeleye Span, Carmen, Rory Gallagher, Robin Trower, Uriah Heap, UK, Saga, Fairport Convention, Procol Harem, The Young Dubliners. Not too bad, these were ones that showed up around here and an encore was done each and every time. I know that every time we go to a Tull concert (or whatever Ian's calling it) we don't want it to end. But I think a majority of Tulls opening acts were good to see. I don't think Ian has ever had to shorten a show cause of a support act. I thought UK, Saga, Fairport, Procol Harem, Gallagher and Trower were great to see with Tull. I left out Honeymoon Suite which I agree with you were less than exceptional, far less. Mark

Best Support acts I've seen are Fairport at Wembley 1988 and Willie Porter ( Cant remember the year ) Worst was Roger Chapman at Liverpool ( 2000 and something ) sure he was crap. I thought he was pissed ( if he had an illness I apologise )

PS. Nine weeks to the day to the Albert Hall gig - I'm ready to go ............
