Shoved a big stick up the a*** of the BBC although it took them many years to finally wake up to the fact that young people had tastes of their own etc etc. Rusty old radio boats on the North Sea and off the coast of Scotland and the Isle of Man - who'd have thought it.

Loving this thread. It brings back so many memories for me when back in the mid sixties I spent Holidays in Bridlington and Radio Caroline was broadcasting off the Yorkshire coast. It was a major breakthrough in promoting music that the younger generation of the time was yearning for. Happy days. I think my favourite DJ from Radio Caroline was Emperor Rosko

I forgot about Emperor Rosko. I've also just discovered that he was American. I thought he was just talking in a hip and groovy radio accent. ;D How clever would we have been if we had google back then? That must mean today's kids are the cleverest ever..........
