I saw them 4 times in 5 days, 2 at Nassau Colisseum and 2 at MSG. At my 1st show, I was amazed at how Ian pranced around thinking he's gotta be on somes drugs haha. But what I really recall is that every thing he did that appeared to be SPONTANEOUS, like take Martin's hat off or any thing else was repeated every show after that at the same time, in the exact same way. Everything was planned , every move and action. Dont get me wrong, I still loved/love the music. After all, I've seen Tull/Ian over 55 times since then, but the lack of spontaneity always got me, mainly because I'd see them multiple times on the same tour. lol

You are so smart and lucky to have done that in 73...I saw them first in 73....it was the best thing I had ever seen in my life up till that day...and I did not go see them the next night in the same venue...I went to work ( dishwasher at a fakey jewish deli in Denver) and babbled about the concert I saw the night before.

Same here, Steel. L uved them so much and loved APP so much that I HAD to see all 4 shows! lol. They were so hot that I was behind the stage for 3 of them.
I remember talking about incessantly to all my friends, like saying..." And then Ian said 'heres a little bit, the middle piece, from Thick...'" I was blown away . And even the nites I was behind the stage, hed climb onto this platform and sing to us the 'Lucifer' part....short but sweet. Whey next came to NYC, in March 1975 I saw all 4 shows again (the War Child tour) only once behind the stage haha . I LOVED taht tour Loved the SAXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
