I feel that way about Jim and would feel the same if we got your posts. I realize I'm a rambling pain in the ass...but the other mods and our regulars are a pretty cool bunch of Tull fans.

It's unfortunate that there has to be any division at all. Of course you're right about Jim. It's nice to see him here, it's nice to see you here. The more Tull fans united the better.
Cheers! Tull United!

Tull United! A the freak men! Righteous post of the past calendar year I would estimate. Should be a simple case of this is the UK based board, that is the USA based board, buddies and pals forever. I mean you will not now or ever see me flashing any peace signs, (though were I a Brit after WW2 I probably would have been flashing a V for victory sign after all THAT)though its sentiment I support through pragmatic thought.

Tull United! I couldn't agree more. Why can't everyone get along! It's a dream I have. Sort of like a dream I had of meeting Ian and his band. Jim made that happen for me in big way, what a day and what fun it was. Isn't that the way it should be? Jim, Remy, William are such Tull fans and they all have so much to offer. I can't wait to see and hear what's in store from them and everyone else here. I have been a long time Tull fan, but it seems I learn something new every day. That makes me happy. Give me more please.

Who the hell else in Tull land says stuff like that? Vaguely reminded of the old parting blow of being tired of living in a Tull museum by this. Anyone else get the vision of a 19 yo Bernie weaseling thru the folks to get at that thing and then furtively slipping it in his pocket. If I really thought I had only one very short chance to meet Ian again, I would present that thing with the whole story, even though I am pretty sure the outcome would not be good. Maybe ask him to scrawl an IA around it. Probably would have a better chance of working if there were people around who might actually find it funny, like, people other than Ian, like Shona, or his son, or any of the band members. I am so impressed that Ian has made it to 65 without smoking pot or taking acid, rather than a new Passion Play or something I would love to see a record from him after investigating those substances at this late date. On the other hand, certainly thru the 70's, and knowing he never had and never would, there were many times I saw him when it was apparent to me that he was already there, just one of those rare individuals with very heightened and attuned receptors, coupled with absolutely ace humor conduits, so maybe doses would f**k up his long held juju, but I must say the thought does still intrigue me.

I made Ian smile at the Chumash casino gig...while he, Ryan, about 5 security people and the grand, grand total of 4 people authorized for what turned out to be a five minute meet and greet in a corridor...we walked past a door marked 'Dealer's Room' ( the place was a casino....duh) and I had the sense to pipe up ' dealer's room...damn...that's so organized and civilized...when we were boys we had to go to bad neighborhoods or sleazy parks to find a damn dealer...this is so thoughtful'....everyone else cracked up...face it, I'm a funny guy...Ian smiled.

Isn't that the way it should be? Like to hear more about your meeting with the band Teacher. OK, this is how it all happened. When I heard about the TAAB 1 and 2 tour, I knew I had to be there. I saw the first TAAB concert in 1972. Thick as a Brick is one of my all time favorite albums and I could not wait to see it again along with the new TAAB 2. I got a call for my cousin who lives near Asheville, NC; she had never seen Tull or Ian before. She had tickets to the Asheville show on September 28 and I had tickets to the Durham, NC show on September 29. We decided we should see both of them. In the mean time I meet Jim on another web site, that shall remain nameless, and we discovered that we had attended a few of the same concerts in North Carolina over the years so, of course, we became friends, I also noticed that he seemed to have a lot of pictures of himself with various past and present band members. Well that got me thinking, so I asked Jim how a person goes about meeting the band. After he told me his story I asked him if I could hang out with him on the day of the concert. So, we decided to meet before the Asheville show and then we would try and meet the band. Now I had to break this news to my cousin, so I called her and told her we were going to meet this guy that I met on the Internet and if we were lucky we would end up meeting the band. (I'm pretty sure she thought I had lost my mind.) At the same time I was joking with my friends and co-workers telling them that I was going to be partying with the band after the show. Anyway, it was dream I had, and I was willing to give it shot with Jim’s help. Well, guess what? It all came true. We meet all the band members and Ian even made an appearance to say hello and sign autographs. Then, to top off the evening; Jim, April (my cousin), some guy named Richard, and I were invited to go have a few beers with the band. It was awesome! We had great conversations with Scott, John, Florian, David and their sound technician, Mike Downs (he was a real joker). They were all very gracious and they were more than willing share their thoughts on any questions we threw at them. And the best part? Jim took this picture, so here’s the proof; I am not too old to rock and roll and, just this once, party with the band! You can believe it was a night I will never forget.

Thanks Teacher, I love these stories, in Barcelona I had the opportunity to greet again the sound engineer, Mike Downs (he was a real joker I agree), so I can confirm your story. I gave Mike, some pictures of the band with Jim in the same Bar, I hope Jim publish those photos (I have a copy : and Mike promised to deliver them to the boys. Was delighted and invited me to have a few beers with the guys after the concert, unfortunately I could not go, I had an hour drive to get home and already had enough beer, the next day I had to work and that meant a few hours of rest, if had been on a weekend certainly would had attended, maybe next time...

When I first met Teacher (Metta) on the internet, I realized we had much in common. She was at the show in Greensboro, North Carolina back in 1977 when I was totally rocked by "Songs From the Wood". We might have bumped into each other and never known it. Before the show in September last year, we met at a Cracker Barrel restaurant about 30 minutes from Asheville. She and her cousin April were relieved to know I wasn't a crazy internet stalker or International terrorist. We arrived early to the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium and met David Goodier along with Ryan O'Donnell.
