I swear...it's more than just the music with Tull...many a morning I have to summon energy and inspiration to keep on keepin' on...and nothing helps me more than thinking about what Ian Anderson managed to do in 2012-...if he can do THAT...I guess i can do THIS....well, inspired by thoughts of Tull and a big coffee. Happy New Year to all and one. I have a good feeling about 2013...I really do.

Happy New Year to everyone here on The Forum. It's been the best year for a long time to be a Tull fan. Thank you so much Ian for the Thick as a Brick album and tour, not forgetting the two Cathedral Concerts. What a great year! More for 2013 please.

Happy New Year and first footings Patti. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-highlands-islands-20596225Right back at ya Ray and thanks you for all your contributions to the Forum and long may you do so. Speaking of first footing – it’s sad but it appears that some of the old traditions are dying out. As a child I remember my granny cleaning the house from top to bottom – paying any bills in order to start the New Year as you meant to go on that included eating a steak pie just after the stroke of midnight in the hope you would have a meal every day ;D You would expect the neighbours to pop in and vice versa. At midnight the first person over your door had to have black hair and a lump of coal (and a bottle of whisky- with some left in it!) As I got older I loved going out at Hogmanay, after “seeing in the Bells” at George Square in the middle of the city you could then go into any house you wanted (as long as you carried a bottle)– that’s probably the part that’s disappeared over the years as people have become less sociable or more wary of the laptop going missing! Lany May Yer Lum Reek and… Yer Flute Tweet I'll stop now before it gets to this warning this video contains bad singing and bad knees
