Not so much p1ssed me off but a Polish friend who sliced the top of his little finger off in an industrial accident on Friday night. He's OK now but will have to be off work for a good few weeks and I hope he will be claiming for the injury. Anyone know a good lawyer?

No pun intended

Perfect music, perfect lyrics, perfect tone, perfect presentation. And dig the drums. But what REALLY cheeses me about it is that you CAN dance to it. You're NOT supposed to be able to dance to Tull music. I don't know, I think they're slipping.

Mods are forbidden to use the word Clunker on a Tull site. Due to overwhelming demand, the rules are now changed and "clunker" can be used by mods, or in fact anyone TT.

the extreme cold N Ireland has been the coldest in the UK for what seems like weeks - average night temp -15 I'm looking forward to Saturday when it will reach a balmy 0 we're not used to it here Here in Alberta we get frequent -20C in winter with episodes of -30 down to -40 with wind-chill taking it far lower. But that is all buffered by how dry it is. -20C here is tolerable because it's so dry here. It's about the same feeling as 0C where it would be a moist climate, or even +5C. So in Ireland I'm guessing your -15 feels like -35 to us. Does "bone chilling" ring a bell?

I can say, at least where the USA is concerned, all those fireman and policeman are anything but forgotten. But I think I saw a figure of 10000 as first responders which I can easily see might be a logistical problem for Mayor Bloomberg, a man who in general I have a great depth of respect for. I won't put the links up here, I forget why I was even looking at 911 stuff on You Tube last night, I think some link from someone on Facebook led me to the page where some calls to 911, the emergency line in the USA, made from the WTC on that day, are now posted, and I don't think they were up there a few months ago. I know this because a couple of friends on Facebook from other countries took Americans to task for their seemingly football like celebrations re the execution of Bin Laden. While that is just not my style to be out celebrating, I very much came to the defense of those people, and it led to disagreements with 2 very intelligent individuals who I very much respect, and I "defriended" them in the passion of that moment. By way of emphasis I was posting some things from that day as reminders, and horrible they were, the ones taken from inside the building as folks were goin down the escalators and you can hear the bodies thumping here and there just outside from those who had chosen to die by their own method, including the film of the two who jumped out hand in hand. But these 2 sound recordings I heard last night I find to quite a bit more terrible, and have an unquestionable ring of authenticity involved. Both these individuals were up around the 105th floor, likely Cantor Fitzgerald operatives, one is a younger lady, the other a middle aged guy who even in the last 5 minutes of his life was able to inject some NY style humor, I think the 911 operator had suggested prayer, or had invoked the name of God, and this guy mentioned something about telling God to get a west wind in there, as you can hear him beginning to die from the smoke inhalation, and the call goes right to the end where the tower fell, quite possibly the most awful thing I have ever heard, each perfect capsules of what people on the receiving end were actually experiencing. But frankly, of course those people are in my memory, but I am certain the world never learns to do the right thing, God or not. The actual imminent perils are not covered with the depth they deserve in the mainline media, and right now and likely pretty much always there is something happening on this planet of such horrific proportions that the world largely turns a blind eye to, unless there is some financial return. I am referring to the 15 to 20 million people affected in Africa, like the 4 million orphans of AIDS left to wander and die in the Sudan. To me any of these events of this magnitude insist that the world put down their ball, and a truly concentrated effort to rectify this where ever it occurs I have zero doubt is precisely what God would intend and insist of us, and for those who do not believe I know still exists in our hearts the notion of doing the right thing. And situations such as exist in Somalia, yes I do believe it merits absolutely brutal force. Further I believe we owe it to Africa, which I believe would have known none of these perils, at least on this scale, prior to the colonization of it that began hundreds of years ago. And I believe somehow, someway doing the right thing can often be profitable in monetary terms, not entirely sure how, maybe because God is smiling, and we do not often enough give him reason to.

I got this news via facebook as well and according to news sites the sheer number of personnel as you say meant it was impossible but there is still some outcry and suggestions that they could use stadiums etc but I don't know the full facts. I watched the documentary here a few days ago - 9/11 -10 years and they seem to be showing more graphic details than I probably want to see or know. I also read an article that stated that pictures and videos will probably and hopefully never be shown certainly for a very long time. In a different vein I saw this video and thought it really interesting and thumbs up to the artist and all those who have worked at ground zero for the last ten years edition.cnn.com/2011/US/08/31/911.memorial/index.html?iref=allsearch
