Beautiful video from the official Free site on what would have been Paul's 62 birthday. xyearsafter Does any else remember a documentary with his father, David Kossoff, speaking very movingly about his son and his talent and his addiction? His father spent the rest of his life campaigning about drug addiction. Part One of David Kossoffs tour of schools etc talking about his sons life. Beautifully detailed and very moving. Paul's son Simon now lives in America and is a very talented photographer simonkossoff.blogspot.co.uk/2009/09/scattered-self-part-1-finding-myself-on.html

Saw Kossoff at a John Martyn gig at Leeds Uni way back (Riley Smith Hall, I think, not Refectory) John had Danny Thompson on stand-up bass, Kossoff on lead guitar and no less than Ginger Baker on drums that night! Dunno if that was a one-off! Kossoff had to play with a mattress over his amp/cab set up - I guess he was too loud onstage for John! he played real well though - even though I guess he 'wasn't' by then. In reference to the mattress, towards the end John said Paul had no accomodation that night and that Paul had asked him to announce 'Would any of the ladies of the audience fancy sleeping with a short-arsed jew!' - Priceless evening!
