In one of the recent interviews I read, IA mentioned that Doane had been unwell and he was concerned about him touring. Anyone know how he is keeping and if he is likely to be able to keep "on the road"? One of my favourite drummers and seems like a good guy as well...
Heather is great. I was fortunate to sit right next to her a few years back at a Tull gig in Ventura County, Thousand Oaks Performing Art center I believe, and she and a friend had a great time as did the whole arena. We chatted in between the hoots and hollers, it was quite a night and she was very gracious. Doane and Heather both look in good health in that picture.

JTull 007: When I first heard "Young Girl" on the radio, I was too young to care. Then I started dating one and everyone would stare... My brother said "Can't you get one your own age" ... I said... "Nope"

FrontDoorAngel: Now I feel bad! I didn't mean to point out the "seventeen" bit, only the very suggestive lyrics in general, especially 'landing strip', which possibly refers to something, at least here in America. I realize 16 is the age of consent in England.

FrontDoorAngel: Also, it's sort of a tradition in rock music anyway. The Beatles, "she was just 17", Ringo's "You're 16, your beautiful and your mine", plus the Stray Cats "Sexy and 17", and Joan Jett's "He must've been about 17, etc.

FrontDoorAngel: Personally I love Ian's sexual innuendos, most of which I never picked up on when I was a Tull sprout. I married a 19 yr old young lady when I was 32. Many people balked at that. But I was in love, though she wasn't.
Jul 28, 2015 21:31:35 GMT
FrontDoorAngel: Donovan had a bit of a to-do about his lyric, "I'm just wild about fourteen," though he wasn't speaking of a girl's age; Robert Plant had to explain his "She is only 3 yrs old & that's a real fine way to start." It was about his daughter, of course!

JTull 007: There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure, 'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings. In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings, Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven...

JTull 007: I saw that performed LIVE in '75 and Robert Plant was struggling with a throat problem. It was still a great show!

FrontDoorAngel: Great to see the love for the mighty Zep. Too bad IA and the Epic Celt didn't "get on" all that well when Tull was opening for them. Ian has admitted he was a tad jealous of Robert's voice. I hope Plant has no ill-feeling still?
Jul 30, 2015 4:01:59 GMT
FrontDoorAngel: And, I've always thought Plant was a fine lyricist and have always wondered why Zep chose not to print lyric sheets. There's a great deal more than Tolkien, vikings, and sex, contrary to what a few naysayers have said!

FrontDoorAngel: Agree about Physical Graffiti. I've always thought that album was (not deliberately) similar to Tull's LITP, with several tracks being rescued from older recording sessions.
