In one of the recent interviews I read, IA mentioned that Doane had been unwell and he was concerned about him touring. Anyone know how he is keeping and if he is likely to be able to keep "on the road"? One of my favourite drummers and seems like a good guy as well...
Heather is great. I was fortunate to sit right next to her a few years back at a Tull gig in Ventura County, Thousand Oaks Performing Art center I believe, and she and a friend had a great time as did the whole arena. We chatted in between the hoots and hollers, it was quite a night and she was very gracious. Doane and Heather both look in good health in that picture.
nonrabbit: He's ok..ish, overrated and an arrogant t**ser

steelmonkey: I never understood either Morrison ( Van, Jim). Take (took) themselves too seriously and got stuck in psuedo-poet poses.....Give a self-effacing blabbermouth like Rick Wakeman anytime ( I'm reading his hilarious book).

steelmonkey: Wakeman's book is called 'Grumpy Old Rock Star',,,,how did he beat Ian to that ?
Nov 20, 2014 17:19:18 GMT
JTull 007: Ian's not grumpy, just a little over concerned from time to time. He thinks there are too many fans that don't understand what H.E. is all about.

tootull: Van Morrison's not grumpy. HE's just misunderstood. (two for fun)

jackinthegreen: Van the Man is superb live, seen him twice, Avalon Sunset, and Enlightenment tours. Mind you, that's a bloody long time ago....

jackinthegreen: Unlike Dylan, who WAS crap.........
Nov 20, 2014 23:56:24 GMT
Aqualung1989: Yeah I have a cousin who went to a Dylan concert and said he was a total asshole.

tootull: When your back's to the wall, and your luck is your all, then side with whoever you may. Seek that which within lies waiting to begin the fight of your life that is everyday.

steelmonkey: I've seen Dylan live Good, Bad and Ugly....Once with Paul Simon who blew him off the stage....Every now and then in an obscure, low profile location, Dylan will shine. He usually craps out in big attention gigs.

tootull: Incomparable = Ian Anderson/Jethro Tull
Nov 21, 2014 18:30:57 GMT
jackinthegreen: Dylan is a brilliant writer of songs, and can produce nice studio versions of them, but IMO he is not a good live act, I dont know why, maybe a few reasons for this, but, for example, I absolutely love the single release, Lay Lady Lay, (superb), but live
Nov 22, 2014 0:07:23 GMT
jackinthegreen: releases are absolute carp........;)
Nov 22, 2014 0:08:00 GMT
tootull: Now how about a little light music to chase it all away? To chase it all away.
Nov 22, 2014 15:57:50 GMT
Aqualung1989: Dylan gets tiring though. I mean, I do love some of his stuff (Don't Think Twice, It's Alright may be the most moving song I've heard), but usually after twenty or thirty minutes of Dylan I just need to listen to something else. Just a personal opinion.
Nov 22, 2014 19:49:11 GMT
steelmonkey: I'm with A-89..Many masterpieces ( Don't Think Twice, Idiot Wind, I and I), many merely great but too much chaff and too few good live performances....whether song or concert.
Nov 22, 2014 22:49:10 GMT
Aqualung1989: Chaff... that's exactly the word I was looking for.
Nov 23, 2014 9:03:00 GMT
maddogfagin: Nothing wrong with a carp now and again
