Hey everyone! I mentioned I would try to get my camera into this show and luckily, I was succesful! So as promised, I will share my "findings". I'm actually going to cut and paste my little review and pics and links from a post I made on another board I'm a member of. (I'm a Mod on Rushtour.com, any Rush fans, are more than welcome to join us! I have the same SN, sign up and say shoot me a PM!) without further ado, Away we go! So, I got to the Tull concert last night at The Meadowbrook U.S. Cellular Pavilion, on the shores of beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee, in Gilford, New Hampshire. I absolutely love this venue, just beautiful and they have a wide variety of local and imported beers available. I was able to get my camera in to the show and took a bunch of pics and a little video which i will share with you here... The opening act was Peter Frampton. I'm not a fan, but he did put on a great show. I would check him out again, very good. from memory, not nearly a complete list, this is what he played: 2 motown songs show me the way money black hole sun baby i love your way do you feel like we do while my guitar gently weeps There were a few more, that i don't know, or don't remember, but he was very good. here is a small vid of his black hole sun coverwww.youtube.com/watch?v=QFZNOBMOqn4and a few pics of Frampton: Alright, enough of the opening act! Next post is all: :cheer:

OK, Tull was freakin awesome! excellent! best show I've seen by them. they played nothing newer than 1979's Heavy Horses and mostly stuck with the first 3 albums. Ian Anderson is turning 61 in a few days (as he reluctantly pointed out during the show) and his voice was very good, probably the best I've heard him. He's had his struggles in recent years, but he still runs around the stage like a madman and likes to joke around in between songs and tell stories. He's an encredibly engaging showman, great presence and phenominal performer. Alongside Ian was longtime Tull guitarist (since album 2 i believe) Martin Barre. There were rumours he wasn't going to be on the US tour, but fortunately for me, he was there and he rocked! Another longtime member, and personal friend of Mr. Neil Peart, Doanne Perry was on drums. He was also excellent as always and even got the stage to himself for a few minute drum solo! Something I hadn't seen at a Tull show before (though I've only seen them a few times since 2000.) Rounding out the band were new members David Goodier on bass and John O'Hara on the piano/organ/keyboards/accordian. Also on stage for a number of tunes was a string quartet featuring local students from the Boston Music Conservatory creating a very powerful and deep sound. spectacular! Now, from memory again, They played the following: My Sunday Feeling Serenade To A Cuckoo A Song For Jeffrey Bourée Dharma For One Too Old to Rock N' Roll Too Young to Die Heavy Horses Thick as a Brick Aqualung Locomotive Breath I know I'm missing a few, but that's most of them. Amazing performance! onto the Pics and Videos! Here they Take the Stage with My Sunday Feeling (short clip)www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGx3J3jXvwgI tried to get at least one pic of each member:

Thanks again. negative on all of the above. I was hoping for farm on the freeway too! hell, I would have loved all the songs you listed, but all things considered, it was an amazing set! Thanks for the kind words. I'm pleased with some of the pics, those are probably the cream of the crop. They could have been much better, but it was nerve racking with that security guy directly in front of me. I saw them boot someone during the first song, so I had to be careful. Thats why my vids are all over the place.

Great pictures - I'd be interested to know what set-up you were using. Looks like the backdrops were a lot clearer and brighter than the show I saw at the RFH London.....or maybe my eyes are getting dim....

Agree with you quizzkid about the backdrops as I was at the RFH concert as well. Your eyes are not dim!

And They Said Hey Ray:
Thanks for sharing this concert. I am impressed, I enjoyed the clips you posted on You-Tube. Considering my last Tull concert was in 2006 and I left empty hearted with great disappointment of what Ian's voice was sounding like but he actually did very well. Thanks again.
Silken...

Sweet Pics Ray, Thanks... I hope Ian has brought Farm and Rocks to this side of the pond for some of the shows. Have seen Heavy Horses so many times, PLEASE IAN. I know what it is, he plays over here what they play on the radio here all the time. Very glad to see our main man Martin looking good..... Oh and thanks for the cheers faces from your Rush Board...

Thanks, Everyone! glad you enjoyed the review/pics/video quizzkid: It's actually nothing more than a Sony H2 digital camera. It's one of those "pro-sumer" types with a lot of automatic settings and a 12X zoom. I was going to get an SLR, but I figured this was probably the largest camera I could sneak into shows. It's served me quite well. Col: I mentioned my Rush Board somewhere in that mess of words I labeled a review it's RushTour.com. lots of great people on there, always nice to get more. I've got the same screen name so shoot me a sitemail when you sign up. It's not "my" board, I'm just a Mod on it.

Again Ray, thank you for posting all those videos. He doesn't sound too bad for an old rocker.....But this is the way I want to remember Ian (and of course Tull). This is from a concert I went to at Tampa Stadium in 1976...Same song. Have a listen. Silken... www.youtube.com/watch?v=80LJTeto8MQ&feature=related
