Jethro Tull live guest violinist Anna Phoebe is to release a new album, featuring Ian Anderson
"Weaving Anna’s violin with the diverse musical and cultural backgrounds of the band members as well as the inspiration drawn from her extensive travels, Between The Shadow & The Soul (to be released in April 2014), is an exotic collaboration of classical and Eastern influences with a unique rock edge. Ian Anderson, a featured guest on the album, describes it as, “Soaring elegantly aloft with Eastern and Western-influenced melodies to conjure all things mysterious for the lifting of all souls…intelligent improvisation and sweeping, emotional cadences and sonic qualities…”
Ian puts it better but bloody 'ell she's got some talent and passion when she brandishes that violin.
Just when I thought all was well in the world....third brick show coming...new album and tour next year,,,comes the Ian pose photo of Anna proving the malignant disorder of the universe....how is she not married to me?
Anna's new audio clip sounds terrific. A brain tonic. A musical rehabilitation clinic on MP3 Boulevard.
Another legend to add the Tull story. Of all the "guests" who've performed with IA and the chaps, Anna's probably the most at home with the music and has added to the creativity on stage. Great person to talk to as well - missed your chance there Bernie.

Old Webby has been supplementing his meagre civil service pension with journalistic duties at R2 Magazine and he sent me the following from the latest edition for possible inclusion on The Forum. I said we'd consider it at the next editorial meeting but when he offered money, well we couldn't resist.
Paragraph one, line three: TSO BEFORE Jethro Tull...what the hell, Webby ? I forgave him splitting the Interview books in two on Kindle,...they are worth far more than even double the cost...but TSO befo Tull? Ladies and gentleman of the jusry ?
futureshock: "Macropod". That sounds like the ultimate. "Hello, my name is J.P.Carruthers, Macropod, Intended At Large. My podcast is in Wales. I play the glass harmonica in 7 languages and edit outgoing Sumerian braille. Please leave a message."

maddogfagin: Macropod sounds like an overlarge ipod, as opposed to a minipod used by small furry animals.

futureshock: Ages ago, I saw Mr. Thompson at the Vancouver Folk Fest, but I worked fence security and was far away, couldn't hear much. Just being there was amazing though, near the musicians all weekend, saw amazing things. Live music is BEST!

steelmonkey: 'Tragic busy at work but celebrating 44th anniversary of best Tull show ever: Feb. 5, 1975 in El Paso,Texas, one of two gigs inserted in between the famous, 5 night run in LA. Listened to War Child and think 'Two Fingers is better than 'Lick Fingers'.

maddogfagin: War Child is a great album, criminally underrated in the music press but loved by the vast majority of fans.
