Okay, you Canadians have some explaining to do...the Canucks lose game 7 and the citizens of Vancouver run amok...WTF? Someone put something in the maple syrup or is this really the end of civilization if Canadians misbehave when their overpayed, low IQ thyroid freaks lose a hockey game to a bunch of other pit-bull-like Canadians, paid to represent Boston ?

Not without precedent though Bernie. The best, but not only for instance was a mid fifties all out riot in Montreal, normally amongst the most urbane of North American cities but not when it comes to Les Habitant and in specific a guy who was given what amounted a national state funeral, as would befit a beloved prime minister, (if any exist) when he passed a few years back, Maurice "Rocket" Richard. The Canadiens were playin the arch rival Boston Bruins in March when one of the Bruins took a stick to the Rockets head, opening a blood spewing gash. The Bruins player took refuge amongst his team mates, the Rocket was like the last guy u want to f**k with, and in his rage, while blinded by the blood in his eyes, the guy who his fists of fury was able to make contact with turned out to be the ref. Anyways this resulted in a suspension for the Rocket for the balance of the regular season and the entire playoffs. When the commissioner showed up in Montreal for the first game of the playoffs this precipitated a riot that spilled on to the street that caused major property damage and required intercession from Rocket Richard to quell it. I would tend to disagree Bernie with the seeming IQ level of hockey players at least with respect to the other sports. When I see them in interviews over decades they regularly seem like the most likely to have received an actual college education moreso than a scholarship to play ball. I am reminded in particular of a guy, Basil McRae, last I knew the all time leader in penalty minutes, I think he played most of his career with Vancouver. Looking at a picture of him I recall he even looked dangerous, which not all hockey villains do, but it turns out he went to Harvard. And who ever the second guy on the penalty minutes list was, I forget now, but I remember he too was an Ivy League player. I was sort of for Vancouver, though they are right near the top of the list for most disliked in Chicago, somewhere just below my Packers, maybe alongside the Red Wings. But it has been a long time since a Canadian team won the cup, 93 Montreal, and it means so much more to them, literally the prime focus of their national identity. ourhistory.canadiens.com/greatest-moment/The-Richard-Riot

Cricket in England may be safe as milk...but in your erstwhile colonies thousands have died at or after cricket games.

Just warming up for the world stage. Nothing to do with hockey & everything to do with anarchy. Wearing Canuck hockey sweaters as a disguise to blend with the crowd. The mix of booze in others helps to fuel the fire. Once I used to join, every boy and girl was my friend. Now there's revolution, but they don't know what they're fighting.
Requesting quiet. Requesting quiet. ;D

Adding that this would have happened even if the Canucks won. I'm an original six fan and I'm happy Boston won. 14 Canadians on the Bruins, eh.

Why do American politicians and military leaders obsess on harmless countries like iraq, iran, libya etc when it's so obvious the danger is just to the North? Any day now they're gonna don flannel and over-run this country...fine, good, i don't even care that much...Let them deal with crooked Floridians and the poor but happys invading from the south. O Canada !
