Usually I don't really mind missing music, be it local, national or international acts, due to Dad duties and unwillingness to ditch my kid during our weekly 4 night runs...I mean, even without fatherhood, I'm a bit old and broke for the kinds of offers my friends who have not de-listed me, send my way...you know: 65 bucks to see Elvis Costello again, ...Neil Young, Dylan or Petty for 100 bucks if you have the right platinum-titanium alloy credit card sponsoring that tour, Cake or the Eels where I'd be standing up for 2 hours with a bunch of tall 31 year olds...the last time I ditched my kid and saw a gig was Ian solo in 2009 when Rebecca flew here from kentucky and we met Bluehare and Salamander in Modesto...and the next night in SF the girl was in my lap and made us leave at halftime. But this one hurts...really hurts , to miss...Hugh Cornwell is playing a teeny bar tomorrow night in SF....12 dollars to get into a place that may hold 150 tops...saturday is the absolute worst night and I just can't make myself stick her with her mom one more night and go get her Sunday AM exhausted...tonite? no kid....but the tour is not in nearby san jose or santa cruz or davis...it's in goddam LA...and when i give the girl back to Mom? sorry charlie--vancouver and beyond will someone please tell me they have seen Hugh Cornwell in the past few years and it was an awful waste of time and money?
This child better take care of me when i'm really old

This child better take care of me when i'm really old Get yourself over to England by June 20th, (accommodation provided free of charge), and we'll go to see Walter Trout. He's playing in a small club near me, max. crowd capacity maybe 200, ticket price £15 in advance. There are still world class acts who don't charge the earth. Try this for starters.......
