What is the most collectable Tull? Definately "Sunshine Day" either in its yellow MGM stock copy issue or the demo version as below. Has sold for a staggering £700 a couple of years ago but the price, as with many collectable artists, has dropped back recently. This copy cost me 2/6d (12 1/2p in silly money) back in the days when I was a nipper. It must be closely followed by the 25th Anniversary CD set, issued by Chrysalis in so few copies that it's as rare as Dodo doodoos. Not to be confused by the AND re-release on cassette - as has been the case a few times.

Another collectable is the Coronach 12" single, with the track listing of Coronach, Jack Frost & The Hooded Crow, Living In The Past & Elegy.
Once turned down the opportunity to buy a box load of them (about 20 copies) and they now sell for around £50 if your lucky.
Drat and double drat.

wonder how much you'd get for this? i51.images obliterated by tinypic/295yb9l.jpg[/IMG] Made during the Stand Up tour - initially mis-pressed on the B side and incorrectly labeled ‘Reasons For Waiting’.

Hi I'm working at a small record store in Germany and some weeks ago a customer sold this version of Living In The Past to us. My boss and I were browsing through the internet for weeks to find out about this probably special version but no one had a clue about the value of this record because no one ( not even the hard core collectors ) has seen it before. So this is my last attempt to find someone to tell me about it. It's the regular Chrysalis 2x record + booklet but the Cover is very different from the original one ( and no it's not self-made ). Does anybody know about it? Please help! P.S.: Sorry for the crappy pics.... Attachments:

From your pictures the record looks like the original UK vinyl pressing (catalogue number Chrysalis CJT1) with a sleeve I haven't seen before. Whether it's a promo release or was once part of a Chrysalis promo box set is hard to verify without actually seeing the album up close. It could be from the UK promo issue and it has become separated from the other albums and press info originally included in the set. Any Forum members know anything more? Both highly collectable in mint condition without any wear, or tears to the cover. The pink rim Island was a later release which was most probably a f**k mess up at the pressing plant or the company using up unused labels. The German release was a "one off" and issued for a record club in Germany, complete with poster. See www.collectable-records.ru/groups/jethro_tull/benefite.htm which illustrates both releases.

That's mine What if it's not in mint vg condition especially the outer sleeve yet still a rare record?

Back to the Benefit album and after that excellent price chart Graham put up, I reckon I'd get about 65-70 nicker as it's between good and v good. Having said that I might just frame it with only the label visible. At least the labels in good condition with no name written on it unlike my Aqualung ..and not even my name

One of the caretakers I used to work with at the Uni was an Elvis Presley fanatic, even down to wearing the wrap around sunglasses so just before we moved to Cornwall I gave him a rather battered Presley 78rpm shellac disc of All Shook Up. He proudly framed the disc and brought it to work on my last day and I must admit it looked good. The record itself was a wee bit scratched and battered and in itself not worth much but as a framed piece of memorabilia I know it went to a good home.
