www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05tkm9mMon 11 May 2015 22:00 BBC RADIO 2 Prog Rock with Charles HazlewoodEpisode 1 of 4 A four part series in which orchestra conductor Charles Hazlewood explores the progressive rock music of the 1970s. In part one he'll be focusing on drums and percussion, but first he chronicles a little of the background to prog rock, tracing its origins in popular music of the 1950s and 1960s. In line with the emphasis on percussion, he talks to one of rock's most accomplished drummer/percussionists, Bill Bruford. Bill, who's played with some of the great rock bands including Yes, King Crimson, UK, Genesis and his own bands Bruford and Earthworks, discusses some of the technical details of his craft with Charles and together they draw parallels between classical and rock music, noting some of the ways that 1970s prog took in some of the influences from classical music. Tracks will be drawn from Yes, King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Bruford, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Jethro Tull, the Toys, B Bumble and the Stingers and Perry Como!

Old Webby has a theory which I must admit I agree with, that Planet Rock dropped a clanger during the IA programme last weekend and instead of featuring a Graham Bond song, played a Graham Bonnet song in error. So . . . to rectify this here are two songs by the Graham Bond Organization - one live and one recorded in the studio - both of which I would suspect IA & Co would have listened to at some stage.
Uploaded on Jan 4, 2009 - Bluesofan The Graham Bond Organization (Graham Bond - Ginger Baker - Jack Bruce - Dick Heckstall-Smith) at The 1965 National Jazz and Blues Festival held at the Richmond Athletic Grounds, Richmond, Surrey, UK on August 7th, 1965
Uploaded on Jul 11, 2008 - jimmytheferret Another great organ blues track from GB and the band. Issued in the UK on Columbia in 1966.

BBC Radio 2: 4 October 2015: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06f3990
Johnnie Walker's "Sounds Of The 70s" Martin Barre, best known for his work with progressive rock group Jethro Tull, shares his memories of the decade.
Martin joined Jethro Tull just in time to feature on their second album in 1969 and has been on every album since. The seventies saw the group enjoy chart success with albums like "Aqualung" and "Thick As A Brick" after playing at the famous Isle of Wight Festival of 1970. Martin remembers this time and picks some of his favourite tracks from the decade.
Also on the show, Johnnie digs out some of the best of the BBC archive, and another listener helps to add a classic seven-inch single into Johnnie's Jukebox.Sun 4 Oct 2015, 15:05, BBC RADIO 2 Repeated Tue 6 Oct 2015, 03:00, BBC RADIO 2

The Ian Anderson Segment was less than 15 minutes but worth a listen... Stuart Maconie asked Ian about the producer who got them to do the video and how it was imagined. Played edits of "Big Dipper", "Bad Eyed and Loveless", and "Too Old To Rock 'n Roll" Overall a very cool promotion of the 5.1 release and some fun moments on the radio!
