wnpr.org/post/show-never-endsThe Show That Never EndsBy JONATHAN MCNICOL Listen live Tuesday at 1:00 pm. The bands Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Rush, Asia, and Styx have sold, literally, hundreds of millions of albums. And that's despite the fact that This Is Spinal Tap is a devastatingly accurate spoofing of, ya know... all those bands. This hour: a look at the rise and fall of progressive rock. And we'll talk, along the way, to a local prog rock band called, logically, 1974. 1974 plays this Friday night, December 1, at Arch Street Tavern in Hartford. GUESTS: Adam Clymer - Guitarist for 1974 John Dankosky - Executive editor of the New England News Collaborative, and host of The Wheelhouse and NEXT on WNPR Parker Hu - Keyboardist for 1974 David Weigel - The author of The Show That Never Ends: The Rise and Fall of Prog Rock Join the conversation on Facebook and Twitter. Colin McEnroe and Chion Wolf contributed to this show.

krcb.org/music-news/jethro-tull-remixes-outtakes-live-ric-on-the-radio-thursday-night-9pm"Jethro Tull: Remixes, Outtakes, Live" - Ric on the Radio, Thursday night @ 9pm
This week, Ric presents Jethro Tull: Remixes, Outtakes, Live. Jethro Tull combined hard rock, progressive rock and British folk to create one of the most distinctive bodies of work in rock history. Most of the "classic" Tull albums (from 1968's This Was to 1978's Heavy Horses) have received the deluxe/bonus/rarities treatment. We'll delve deep into these rarely heard tracks, including outstanding remixes by Steven Wilson, of Porcupine Tree. Hear Ric on the Radio Thursday January 25th, 9-11pm, on KRCB-FM Radio 91!

Short interview with IA on the BBC breakfast news this morning which can be viewed via the BBC i player although I don't think people outside of the UK can view it due to copyright etc. The programme will vanish as if by digital magic tomorrow. The link is: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09pr5rhand the interview was shortly after 9am, UK time. Nothing new except the usual mistake - picture of Blodwyn Pig instead of Tull but you sort of expected it somehow with all the pretend experts about.
