That top or lead picture in that guitars from the wood article, however long that particular magazine has been around, I can't imagine they have a more original celebrity picture than that one. So much I have always loved about that guy that is only loosely connected to or has nothing to do with his music, another classic.

TT - we should have this wrapped up in the next few decades I'm amazed by your collection. Thank you TT. Your memorabilia is impressive as well. I've got the usual UK issue songbooks, Record Collectors etc., and a few original copies of Melody Maker, Disc & Music Echo and some Rolling Stone issues. The early Rolling Stone issue is the one with Ian Anderson on the cover (?) wearing make-up but the whole article is too big to scan. I had the misfortune to have some of my paper items deteriorate through water damage (water tank burst in loft - kitchen roof caved in - couldn't make coffee - p1ssed off) but managed to salvage some of the articles by judicious use of a photocopier and reams of paper. Not the same as the real thing but better than nothing.

Pity the Andersonian attention span pre-empted ongoing dispatches of quality above.....oh well, he's not the only one to embrace and forget new toys....I have a daughter and a sometime girlfriend with similar gnat-like attention span.

Sounds, July 1973 I was working in Carlisle that year and pinned that picture of Ian behind my bed at the digs I was staying in at the time. What memories! The only downside while I was there was when I went to see 'Wild Turkey' only to find out the gig had been cancelled due to poor ticket sales

Both this one and the previous Sounds poster have been lovingly kept, together with the paper itself, in the far recesses of my collection. Will post a few Melody Makers which I still have in due course.

No, I didn't keep the poster I left it still in place for future Tull fans to enjoy along with one with the title "Crime of Passion" which had the picture similar to my signiture of Ian playing sax. I suppose you also have that one

From May 1978, one of my all time favourite editions of Melody Maker. Boy, were Tull ever the music press favourites at that time.
