Not sure if this is the earliest mention of Tull in a (UK) magazine. It won't copy as a whole page so it's in two bits and it's dated November 1968. Tried to verify on Tullpress but it seems to be down - possible changes? Andrew over at Tullpress has the TV listing for First Timers on Granada TV as the first mention of the JEB in print although it's titled as being from The Radio Times which was at that time exclusively for the BBC so the article would have been from the northern edition of the TV Times. The first Tull references are from the Melody Maker and Record Mirror from February 1968 with the announcement and review of the Sunshine Day single. www.tullpress.com/67-68.htm

Which show would you go to if you had 1 choice ? Ministry of INFO 1/7/00 Blockbuster Pavilion Charlotte, NC. USA Support: The Chieftains, joined by Doane & Ian (in his 'street', not stage, clothes & persona) for one song.

I am selling a very interesting piece of paper that is a part of a record I bought. The record is a MONO This Was from Island. It has promotional posters and a letter from Jethro Tull's talent agency to Columbia records. As we all know, JT ended up signing with Chrysalis. Just thought that might be of interest to some of you. I really should have posted this earlier, but the auction ends tonight at 10 PM EST. Here is the eBay link.

Fairly accurate values for Tull items 1968 to 1970. No mention of the Jethro Toe "Sunshine Day" red label MGM promo which is about the same value as the yellow label stock copy or the third Island label design for the "Living In The Past" UK single, few of which exist as they must have been used at the very end of the issue.

I think Mick Abrahams has the same problem. Still I hope the Sweet Dream sheet music will inspire me to improve a bit

Rock and Flute? No problem (on the other hand if you know the music you shouldn't even ask the question). In these two performances Ian Anderson gives his best, demonstrating his love for art. He plays his flute at times in an unusual way, he is always impacting, he puts all of himself into it. The whole body participates in the musical performance, from the feet to the face, a complete involvement. If someone asked me to show them what an artist does, I'd tell them first to listen to Jethro Tull and watch Anderson. . . .
