Voluime one, part one ends with an Ian interview...plain to see...the book was cut in half and costs 20.00 on Kindle. There are many pages of 'thanks' including a certain Graham Maisey...so 'fess up...did you tell them to cut it in half and charge for it twice on kindle ? Er . . . no. I wouldn't do such a thing to friends.

Thieves not meant to insult....more like Robin Hood...you know taking from the rich and giving to the righteous cause of AND...seriously... I would have pressed 'buy' if it was in tenths let alone halves...the technical explaination didn't occur to me for a second since there are HUGE books on Kindle...no matter...I'll just put my hand back down into my daughter's throat, pull up the bread, sell it , and save the winnings for Volume Two...parts one through infinity. Enjoy the champagne and strippers Webby and Dave...you deserve that and more !

From the latest edition of Record Collector recordcollectormag.comJethro Tull: The A New Day Tapes Volume OneDavid Rees & Martin Webb **** A New Day, £17.49 ISBN 9780957353305, 304 pages Tull tales from an Anderson shelterIn the 27 years since David Rees launched the independent Jethro Tull magazine A New Day - with the assistance of "new boy" Martin Webb from the second issue onwards - the mag has become the definitive go-to repository (and/or depository) of all things Tull-related. Having established straight from the off that they were literate, precise, discerning and unpretentious - rational fans, not unconditional fanatics - Rees and Webb gained the trust and approbation of Tull members and affiliates from every stage of the band's career. The resultant access enabled A New Day to gradually accrue an archive of uniquely extensive, wide-ranging and revelatory interviews, the transcripts of which are presented herein (a second volume is promised for early 2013). One would go so far as to suggest that Tull fandom is by no means a prerequisite for finding these interviews utterly absorbing. Rees and Webb aren't averse to asking prickly questions, and the likes of lan Anderson, Mick Abrahams, Barriemore Barlow and Dave Pegg make for intelligent and strikingly candid interviewees. Intra-band relationships and dynamics - plus old, partly- resolved rivalries - are laid bare; best of all, a substantial chapter devoted to the seminal pre-Tull John Evan Band glows with archaeological significance and vivid 60s detail. literate, precise, discerning and unpretentious - rational fans,.....well said and something we should all aspire to equal.... What Webb and Rees have accomplished is nothing short of the exact fan magazine and concurrent fan community that Tull deserves....sui generis for those of us who have fallen short on the unpretentious part of the description.

Yes I know, it's only happened once before but when two issues of A New Day arrive in one small brown envelope it does mean, at least from where I sit, a good read this weekend. #106 has an extensive interview with Ryan O'Donnell and reviews of the Brussels Cirque Royal concert and the Newcastle and St. Brides Christmas shows amongst a load of other stuff. #107 has tantalising news of some new music from the headmaster himself, an interview with Martin Barre, book reviews, letters to the editor and some rather fine archive reviews of TAAB.

You're right, I did not put the credit of the images because as you say are classic and Adrian's name is on the 1st page, I did not know that is a member of the forum By the way in those days when there was no Internet, "A New Day" was one of the few ways to stay up to date on what towards Jethro Tull, (and some specialized magazine),many Spanish fans we were subscribed to "A New Day ", so thanks to Martin, Adrian and Dave for all the information in those years No problem Remy. I've 3 or 4 more of Adrian's images but time constraints only allow this one for the moment - a few more when I've got 10 minutes ! (c) Tyte/AND/JT Forum.

Totally agree, that is like, one of the main ten. My favorite still being the semi famous color one on the inside of Living In The Past, particularly the expressions on Jeffrey and Ian's face, the one where Barrie is holding a baby, maybe his.

Issue #109 of A New Day will be published in the next few days.A review of Martin Barre's new CD, John O'Hara's Bargee's Wife performance, and Ian Anderson at Prog Awards. You know it seems a lifetime since issue #1 was published in all its photocopied glory In fact it is a lifetime and Dave Rees is still a West Ham supporter.

Issue #109 arrived at Kernow Villas today. I understand kindle editions are now available, if that's the correct wordage, for those of you who don't get the good old, and trusty, paper copy. 28 years of AND - who would have believed it at the time

Hot on the heels of AND Tapes vol 2 (reviewed elsewhere on the Forum) is the latest edition of AND, #110. Usual contents of Tull news, a review of the 15th Itullian Convention, record and concert reviews etc with an intriguing interview with Martin Barre which I certainly won't spoil your reading enjoyment by revealing one of the questions and Martin's answer. Well except for out and out bribery of course - £10 notes or their equivalent courtesy of The Royal Mail.

I'm just sitting down to a nice cup of afternoon coffee (Nescafe Gold Blend should you ask) when a brown envelope is delivered by our friendly postman containing not one, but two issues of A New Day. Yes, two issues Issue # 112 has interviews with Florian Opahle and Mick Abrahams, news of a live Martin Barre album to be released sometime in the near future, Homo Erraticus news and a review of IA at All Flutes Plus shindig and also Prague from last November. Issue # 113 is a recent interview with IA conducted by Messrs Rees and Webb at TullCentral at the beginning of February plus some rather fine artwork from Fran Maholland, Mike Bennett and Zara Kimberly. Finally, refering back to issue # 112 and forming part of the interview with Big Mick, is a photograph taken of Mick in a Superman "onesie". I'm sure he won't mind me posting it here - it's a classic. Details on ordering copies, if you don't subscribe, at the usual web address www.anewdaymag.co.uk/

Issue #114 of A New Day is "at the printers" so should be out in a week or two. Cover features IA with Ryan as a monk.
And while we're at it, Burning Shed have the last few remaining copies of the deluxe edition of 'Homo Erraticus' on sale. After they're gone I suppose it's down to sourcing copies on ebay and similar - be interesting to see what they're selling for in a year or two.
