couple of lines from Orion "So come up singing above the cloudy cover Stare through at people who toss fitful in their sleep.." sorry off subject but you can't help but swear in amazement at some of the images in Ians lyrics - I'm still on Stormwatch ;D "...And young girls shiver as they wait by lonely bus-stops after sad parties: no-one to take them home.." or ..."As the dawn sun breaks over sleepy gardens.." I could go on and on

"Minstrel in the gallery" with its reference to pumpkin eaters He brewed a song of love and hatred --- oblique suggestions --- and he waited. He polarized the pumpkin-eaters --- static-humming panel-beaters ---

www.daysarenumbers.net/Ghoulish Delight #5: Jethro Tull’s Ian AndersonJust look at Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson doing the fabulous prog/folk/psych number ‘Witch’s Promise’ on Top of the Pops in 1970!
Look at him! He’s like a mad combination of Rasputin and someone you might see on Time Team! He’s singing about a witch, as well. Stick this on at your Halloween party and it’ll go down a treat… Or a trick?
If only they had performances like this on Top of the Pops these days. If only they had Top of the Pops these days.
I remember watching this on Sounds of the Seventies on BBC2 in about 1990. “Mummy?” I said. “Who is that weird man with the flute?” I think she told me to shut up.
What are they going to have on Sounds of the Noughties? f**king Paloma Faith, that’s what.

Scary ! ...not the only place Ian shared a space with the Cassidy boy - my bedroom wall as well. ..too late. On a showbiz gossipy type note - did I read somewhere that the golden Cassidy boy has had a hard life since the 70's?

Patti, have you read 'I Think I Love You' by Allison pearson? Hilarious book about Cassidy fan girl in the late 60s England. If you haven't, you'd love it. I'll look for it. I have to add that David Cassidy didn't have a prominent position on the wall,he was crammed in the "out grown however not quite forgotten" corner alongside Cat Stevens and horses. I grew into Tull.

In the recent past, I upset a few folks in a different place with my celebration of "Tull-o-ween" Two banned words was it - Tull and Halloween? ...................................... Not here! it's all atmosphere, myth, legends and spookiness at All Hallows Eve or Samhain in a Tull world. My theme of choice involves vintage, old witch in the Woods and getting lost type frights. There are some great and imaginative Halloween costumes but I'm a traditionalist in that it should only be about ghosts, witches, black cats and hauntings. i44.images obliterated by tinypic/2hdmbfb.png[/IMG] I think the older the better, some of the Victorian/last century themes and pictures - old black and white horror stories are the best and most scary. i40.images obliterated by tinypic/20ab7g5.png[/IMG] i43.images obliterated by tinypic/21o3qd1.png[/IMG] i41.images obliterated by tinypic/2la3dzm.png[/IMG] mind you here's a woman going through a Forest who's definitely not a Hag. Love the atmosphere in this video and of course the lady and the song. nonrabbit i43.images obliterated by tinypic/xaqef6.png[/IMG]

I can't help but remember the link between this movie and "A Passion Play" At the 1:45 mark, the 2nd Mrs. Crane is lured to an untimely death by the Evil Old House.
No doubt that this image was what was burned into my mind, upon seeing the Ballerina whom was resurrected. "I've been unable to find out how or why she fell. Although I have my suspicions"

"I've been unable to find out how or why she fell. Although I have my suspicions" RATS ! Huge rats.. if you check at 1.47 her eyes are darting backwards and forwards as the rats run down the corridor - they can open doors as well.
Great connection btw this and APP and great pics - very interesting Jim.
Reminds me of Kate Bush and the black and white thriller The Night Of The Demon

Great video by Kate Bush I am amazed at her talent which is so unique. You know the moment when you first hear Tull and realise that your listening to something unique and wonderful well for me the band/musician that comes second to that is Kate Bush. Like most Brits around that time, her debut singing Wuthering Heights on TOTP's was the first time I heard her and it was beyond riveting. Many have copied and been influenced by her however none can equal. Beautiful pics of Kate as a child taken by her brother, John Carder Bush, photographer. www.johncarderbush.com/more here this little girl was composing songs when the rest of us were playing with Barbie dolls. www.flickr.com/photos/25803264@N02/sets/72157604624823311/detail/

Ian's Official Halloween Proclamationfrom the official place.... warm words, sentiments and gun paraphernalia
"Another US/Canada tour draws to a close as we wend our way from Edmonton to Calgary. Miles of flat farmland with all the crops long since harvested as winter approaches. The leaf season is over. At least here. Back in Maine and New Hampshire, it was just beginning when we passed through from Portland ME to Montreal. But tourists (leaf-peepers) were thick on the road in their RVs and hotels full with jacked-up prices to boot. Only another nine TAAB shows to go before it is put to bed – probably for ever. I shall miss it after the best part of two years touring the shows around the world. The support of the fans has been magnificent and the acceptance and appreciation of the TAAB2 sequel album surpasses all expectations....." more here jethrotull.com/ian-andersons-halloween-2013-update/

One more night of Tull-o-ween or Dia de Los Muertos!latinzine.msn.com/lifestyle/d%c3%ada-de-los-muertos-joyfully-remembering-the-departed?gt1=34154 A Rich History
Dia De Los Muertos is one of Mexico's traditional holidays reuniting and honoring beloved ancestors, family and friends. It is celebrated over two days, on November 1 and 2. The roots of this celebration go back 3,000 years to pre-Hispanic cultures like the Aztecs, Mayans and Toltecas. When the Spaniards conquered Mexico, this indigenous custom was rooted so deeply that it survived centuries of European colonization.
For these ancient cultures, death wasn't something to be feared. It was as much part of life as life itself. Día de los Muertos reflects this perspective. It is a happy celebration. Death is represented in whimsical, colorful ways. There is no place for weeping for this could be interpreted as offensive by the a dead relatives who are visiting gladly.
