I listened to HH yesterday. What a truly magnificent album in every respect. I once read a review describing it as the greatest folk rock album ever recorded. I love everything about the album, especially the lyrics and Ian's gravelly voice. In some ways it is the quintessential Tull album, certainly the best mix of electric and acoustic. I used to give SFTW a miniscule edge when comparing these albums, but I think this one might be a little better mainly because I think Martin's electric guitar on Horses is integrated better with the other instruments whereas on SFTW it sometimes seems superimposed. (I particularly love Martin's guitar outro on Weathercock.) In the final analysis, though, both albums are sublime and comparing them is about as futile as comparing Brick and APP.

Indeed, one of my favourite Tull albums too. It would be really nice to se Rover or no Lullaby in the set for a tour sometime.

I think Moths might suit Ian's vocal chords these days.

I think Moths might suit Ian's vocal chords these days. Yeah, good point TM that would another one. Maybe seeing as we are getting the This Was 40th anniversary thing going on maybe you'll get the Heavy Horses 30th!

It would be great to hear some of the less played tracks on that album again though. With Tull on a live high at the moment a tour set weighted towards HH material and maybe SFTW too could be really good.
