Seemed to be having a hard job of beating the skins and somewhat under-rehearsed Mind you it must be difficult to play along with decent music. Btw, is this the same concert where Kate Bush was having a problem with the straps on her dress? Might try and find the video of that. God I'm starting to sound like somewhere else. Please, Please, Please, find that video, it'll make an old man very happy I'll have a look for it. Think it's called a "wardrobe malfunction" in modern day speak

soooo it's Ireland/N Ireland 1 Scotland 0 On the official site it says the Castlebar Co Mayo gig TBA - come on ;D there's only one decent sized venue and about a hundred pubs and sure enough www.theroyal.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=417&Itemid=516I don't know whether to go to Co Mayo or Belfast if Castlebar more chance of a meet up? I see also that Christy Moore is playing the previous night wonder if he'll hang around remembering that Ian said Planxty was one of his favourite bands. ? Maybe a good chance as you say to meet them at those smaller venues. If I get 'planning permission' from the other half I will attend all three venues, but definitely Dublin and Belfast Horslips played at the Royal Theatre 2 weeks ago. Christy Moore's present guitarist Declan Synott was Horslips first guitarist, he is on their first few records. Somehow his face did not fit so he was replaced by young Fean.

I think I'll probably head down to Castlebar - my daughter knows a few people there - some of them might even go to a Jethro Tull concert. What do you reckon it'll be like for Tull to play there and why did they choose Castlebar I wonder?

Just noticed that Scott Hammond is playing drums with 'Jethro Tull' on the Ireland dates. OK its a bit of a trek for Doane but I saw Tull without Doane a few years ago ( acoustic tour ) and it wasn't the same. OK Martin will be back but to me Doane is an integral part of Tull. Wonder if he's off to Australia ?? Was thinking of going over to Dublin but I'll give it a miss this time. Oh well perhaps I'm just in a bad mood tonight!
Nearly forgot to thank Mr Dog for pulling me out of the hat as one of the winners of the Christmas quiz. Just waiting for the postie - will let you know how the CD sounds.

Looks like only having to go to work in a few minutes is going to stop this onslaught. Gil Scott Heron covering Inner City Blues and truly finding the fire and anger inherent in it. I know something of the Mark Essex referenced in here, maybe worth doin a wiki on, and in some respects pity his total breakdown, apparently a good man who finally completely snapped, though impossible to support the ends he chose. www.youtube.com/watch?v=drTjTE8MCBUAnd finally, mercifully, the eternally sweet Emmylou with a Lucinda Williams tune, Sweet Old World www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUHrFo4aPGI

blogs.westword.com/backbeat/2011/01/janet_jackson_jethro_tull_omd.phpJethro Tull brings the Aqualung 40th Anniversary to Red Rocks on Wednesday, June 8. Ian Anderson and company will play Aqualung as well as other favorites. Kansas opens the show. Reserved tickets ($49.50-$84.50) go on sale Saturday, January 15 at 10 a.m. ...and if I laughed a bit too fast. Well it was up to me.

Hot Tix:www.denverpost.com/music/ci_17079620Jethro Tull, for all its creative and commercial achievements, will always be remembered for its 1971 album "Aqualung," a classic that distilled the U.K. band's folk and hard-rock proclivities into a decidedly theistic (if anti-religious) message. Appropriately, the band is commemorating the disc's 40th anniversary with a summer tour where the album will be performed in its entirety (along with assorted hits). Tickets for the June 8 show at Red Rocks, with openers Kansas, are on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. ($49.50- $84.50, Ticketmaster) Up to me

Just scored 4 tix in the 8th row for the Red Rocks show, quite happy about that as the closest I have seen them at this venue was 20 rows further back. I missed the infamous riot in 1971 only because my high school buddies forgot to pick me up as we were going to sneak in...along with 8,000 other fools. But I got to hear all the war stories and see the bruises the next day in class. Ah, the old days. Saw them the next year on the TAAB tour (my first time!) and was eternally hooked. This will be show number 26 and like most everybody else I'm wanting new material too, but I'm also glad they are still around!
