Remember me?? Priceless video and Aqualung on a walk!!! To me this is more like the feeling of being different from everybody else... Not wrong, but different... There is nothing wrong with being a Scuba Diver, but it's very hard not to feel misplaced when you're a Scuba Diver walking around in the city... Like McCloud riding on a horse in the middle of New York City... or like The Ugly Duckling... The concept of being different and misplaced... (I'm probably reading too much into it though...) I have days when I feel like that... Utterly misplaced... not better than everybody else, but misplaced and different... Like I'm from another planet... (...Not Mars... ) Maybe Pluto... Year... That'll be cool... Or cold, that is... Approximately minus 369 degrees Fahrenheit... or minus 223 degrees Celsius...

This is a painting that is hanging on my wall, as in so many other homes around the world... It was painted in Denmark by the now deceased and world famous painter, P. S. Krøyer (1851 - 1909) It was painted in 1893... Isn't it just wonderful? The Danish title is: Sommeraften på Skagen Sønderstrand, and the translated version of the title is: Summer evening on the south beach of Skagen... Wonderful... Somebody once told me that the painting represents the past, the present, and the future...

Some amazing art indeed. My wife has a flag with some interesting similarities. You know It looks like it could be a painting by the same painter... and if it is, it's probably painted in Denmark/Skagen... That's where he painted most of his paintings, mainly because of the very special light in Skagen... You know... Sometimes when you talk about your wife, it reminds me about Peter Falk when he played Columbo... He always talks about his wife, and in the nicest way, but we never get to see her... (You see how my brain "works?" Spirals out of control... ) I just saw an episode of Columbo where he was on a ship... his wife is also on the ship, but through the whole episode, we still don't get a glimpse of her... Finally we think that we will get to meet her... but no... Very funny... Very nice flag Jim! Say hello to her for me!

Strathaird house was up for sale this year-I found it on Sotheby's website. No I can't afford anything from them however I will admit I do browse property porn now and then. It's a teasing No7 in this page!

I could have sworn we had a Psychedelic Tull thread in here - I remember some of the posts but maybe like Photobucket it's playing games! Anyway, I actually listened intently to a taxi driver recently as I was sitting in his cab ( what choice?) as the subject got on to music...and of course Tull. He was a fan however he also pointed out this band from the mid to late 60's - Skip Bifferty. So that got me trying to find a link with Tull as you do! And there is. i66.images obliterated by tinypic/301pzie.jpg[/IMG]

Have to share this. There can't be anything much better than catching up with long lost friends especially if they're musicians too. I recently became reacquainted with a friend from way, way back in Glasgow and we've been catching up on music. He is a multi talented musician and actor - appeared in Braveheart - of course! Anyway he put this up today of him playing sax with Dick Gaughan in 1988. It's a great track. www.allantall.co.uk/

LINK One of Scotland's greatest trad artists, guitarist Dick Gaughan is known as a diehard Socialist leftie, as well as one of the world's greatest guitar flatpickers. His career has ranged from straight trad to a brief fling at Celtic rock, and then into a near-complete submersion into politcal song during the Thatcher-Reagan years of the 1980s. His records have softened ever so slightly since those days, although his political commitment remains strong. A powerful and charming live performer, Gaughan is sure to bring a tear to your eyes, either because of some sad tale of woe, a particularly beautiful melody, or perhaps a particularly daft joke.

Strange... I can only see my latest posts if I am online... Does anybody know why? That's because you posted the subject matter in a restricted section, only viewable to members when they log on. I'll move the posts this morning into a section which can be viewed by everyone.

Okay... This seems to work... The painting is 60 X 80 cm... I will probably call it Foxy Jazz... or Foxy Lady Jazz... Painted by: M.V.P. That's me... The painting was inspired by Miles Davis, Kind of blue...

Another experiment... I will try to post another painting, and minimize it... (If I can...) I call it Mars Attack, because of some of the colors I have used for this painting... So, it's not an attack from outer space I'm thinking of, but me primary attacking the canvas with the colors, Mars Yellow, Mars Orange, and Mars Brown... The painting is 60 x 80 cm... Mars Attack...
