Happy Birthday my Tull brother from the exotic south. I hope you have a very healthy, happy, Tull filled year. Is this your big 6-Oh ? Brithdays a good time to remember yet again how lucky we are to live in the Tullecene period of geological history. Think of the billions of souls before and after us who will not share their time on this planet with Ian Anderson. Shudder.

Happy Birthday Mick Abrahams Numero Uno Forever ! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MICK ABRAHAMS LINK Michael Timothy 'Mick' Abrahams was born on 7 April 1943, is a guitarist and bandleader, best known as Jethro Tull's original guitarist.
Mick Abrahams was born in Luton, Bedfordshire. He played on the album 'This Was' and was recorded by Jethro Tull in 1968, but conflicts between Abrahams and Ian Anderson about the musical direction of the band led to Abraham's departure as soon as the album was finished. Abrahams wanted to continue a blues / rock direction, while Anderson wanted to take more overt folk and jazz influences. He was first replaced by Tony Iommi who would leave Tull after only a few weeks and would later go on to form Black Sabbath, and then by Martin Barre who stayed with Jethro Tull until the band stopped in 2011.
Abrahams caused some controversy in Jethro Tull fan circles when he founded a band called This Was in the late 1990s, in which members of the first incarnation of Jethro Tull were reunited (with the exception of Anderson). She mainly played songs from the early days of Jethro Tull. This was rejected by Jethro Tull fans, but Anderson apparently was not so insulted. In the past few years, Abrahams and Anderson played as guest on each other's albums. Abrahams also participated in Jethro Tull reunions, as well as one-off projects and performances over the years.
RockMuZine congratulates Mick Abrahams with his 75th birthday.

Happy Birthday, John. I know you did not have the easiest year, I hope the coming year brings health, happiness and Tull. Anyone have an abacus big enough to calculate combined moderator ages ? Our average is north of 60 but south of Ian. Probably way north of current band average...Florian really pulls theirs down ( and Scott) ( and John)
