Happy Birthday folks to all of you who are lucky enough to have been born today, January 25th, BURNS NIGHT.
How about a Burns poem nonrabbit?
Robert Burns by William Topaz McGonagall
Immortal Robert Burns of Ayr, There's but few poets can with you compare; Some of your poems and songs are very fine: To "Mary in Heaven" is most sublime; And then again in your "Cottar's Saturday Night," Your genius there does shine most bright, As pure as the dewdrops of the night.
Your "Tam O'Shanter" is very fine, Both funny, racy, and divine, From John O'Groats to Dumfries All critics consider it to be a masterpiece, And, also, you have said the same, Therefore they are not to blame.
And in my own opinion both you and they are right, For your genius there does sparkle bright, Which I most solemnly declare To thee, Immortal Bard of Ayr!
Your "Banks and Braes of Bonnie Doon" Is sweet and melodious in its tune, And the poetry is moral and sublime, And in my opinion nothing can be more fine.
Your "Scots wha hae wi' Wallace bled" Is most beautiful to hear sung or read; For your genius there does shine as bright, Like unto the stars of night
Immortal Bard of Ayr! I must conclude my muse To speak in praise of thee does not refuse, For you were a mighty poet, few could with you compare, And also an honour to Scotland, for your genius it is rare

snaffler: I haven't listened to anything as refreshing for decades (re Jethro Tull), as a couple of recordings of Martin's 50th Anniversary US tour! The songs sound so reinvigorated by Dan Crisp's vocals. I saw Martin last year and the vibe in the band seemed great

steelmonkey: I still don't feel like I have learned and integrated the 5 songs that were written for the opera. I wonder if and when they will ever be available besides the version snagged from a live show that I listen to now and again.

JTull 007: The Jethro Tull Forum is not on Facebook but there are some called The Jethro Tull Board or Group that have been quite abusive to TRUE TULL Fans. This Forum is very open minded and not so childish.

maddogfagin: Their jealousy and ignorance knows no bounds. Best ignore them - most sensible people do these days.

dryad: Hey, I'm shouting out because I can't figure out how to post in the "Hello, I'm new Here!" post. I cam over here looking for Samhain songs. I'll roll with "Songs From the Wood" if no one knows of something specific. I'll do the hello if I can figure it out
