Hi folks, my father told that he use to listen to this wonderful album but he can't remember it's name, the only thing he rembers is one of it's album art that consists of an old man with a long beard writing music on a scroll. Does anybody have any idea of what's its name?
thanks
Brandon

The only covers I can think of at the moment, and it is Sunday morning , are the two below. From globalrocklegends.blogspot.com/2008/12/moody-blues.htmlCheers Maddog

I think you're right...would you believe i saw 'Kansas' on a stadium bill with the Rolling Stones...and, I think, Rufus ? Probably in 1977 or 78....They didn't do much for me...nor did their studio albums...but living in mexco in 1986 i learned that 'Dust in the Wind' is HUGE down there...like Freebird, Stairway to heaven huge...

I never liked them much either. I remember that their violin-player was a big Tull fan. Dust In The Wind was a huge hit in Germany, too.

That Kansas Album makes a lot of sense and even the moody blues, I will listen to them. My father told me that this record had a long classic track with the orchestra and had a beautiful solo with violins that goes faster and faster (rythm). Does this help a little?
thanks

There's an album cover out there with a sketch of an old man on the left, facing to the right, holding up a scroll in his left hand, pen in right hand and he's looking at you (looking to his right). I'm all over Google images looking for it, but haven't found it yet. If I remember correctly, it's more of a black and white sketch with perhaps some color added, rather than a painting. It's not Styx, Foreigner, Genesis, Moody Blues, and I've googled "album cover art" and several other words and it's not there, but if you went to a record store in the 1980's you'd see it all the time. !!!! it's done in a Moody blues album cover style though, for sure.

No, it's not the Kansas album I'm thinking of, but I think it's from around the time- late 70's or through the early 80's. I've used a new feature in PhotoShop called "Live Memory Trace MousePad" to create this amazingly accurate estimate of the album cover art. I've added a white duck on the wall to keep it Tull-relevant. That should jog someone's memory? Attachments:

Maybe the japanese or Korean words in the sky are a clue?

Interesting - don't recollect that one at all. Might try to google with the description "man with scroll" although I expect you've exhausted all possibilities by now

(their first answer - was it Tull?) LOL Are you sure you did ;)n't imagine it?

I spent an hour searching through Google Images for album covers yesterday, totally intrigued by how easy the search should have been, yet totally escaped me. So many times I thought I had it, but no. Went through 10,000 images no doubt, hundreds of bands, dozens of top suspects, nothing. I'm thinking maybe it wasn't an album cover at all and is just some painting somewhere. Maybe it's a soup can label or a book cover. I think I'm giving up on this one. I'd recommend to drop the search.

Persistence can pay off in unexpected ways. Go to Google, Image search, and search for "great album cover". Enjoy wandering through the results!
