Anyone got this? Just got a copy I picked up from ebay (Tull night for me tonight! ) I've just given it a quick glance to make sure it works as I bought an NTSC format copy by mistake Was this an officially sanctioned release? It's kinda not that great picture quality but better than a bootleg. As for the performance...I'm off to watch it now so I'll get back to you on that!

Well, I've watched it and er......it aint that great! To be fair it does have it's moments but it's a very long way off being a classic Tull performance. A very similar set to the Montreaux DVD but Martin has a much better, more rocky sound and Andy Giddings is on top form too (although he's a bit too high in the mix sometimes) I think they both do a great job of holding together a difficult show that could have gone really pear shaped. The down side, however, is a very below par show from Ian Anderson littered with a surprising amount of mistakes. Right at the start of the show during LITP there is a bizarre moment when he does the old sticking the flute through Martins legs thing a trips over a cable stepping back and only just manages to stay upright! It obviously unsettled him because for a few moments after he seems completely unable to play the flute and sounds terrible. After that he never really gets back into his stride and it comes across as a bit of a 'get it over and done with' show for him. I suppose in a bizarre sort of way it does make me realise just how good a musician he really is as I've done a fair few Tull shows over the years and this is the first time I've ever seem him really play badly during some songs. As I mentioned somewhere up there it's not terrible so don't let me put you off getting it but if you want a copy make sure you buy it cheap!

Thanks for post Col.
I think the only time I remember Ian playing poorly was back in '91. He had quite a few bad nights in the north east of the US from what I've heard...

I don't have the money for a video disc burner but I think those torrent sites like dime have rendered the need for the rip off prices for bootleg cd's and dvd's extinct. Don't know if I have seen that one in specific on dime torrents for instance, but that 76 Tampa show is on Traders Den, i think the video stuff takes awhile to download depending on a few variables but it is free!

Is Live At Bethlehem a bootleg? I suppose it's not what you'd call an official Tull release but it was available on Amazon & Play.com, albiet briefly. A bit of a grey area. And welcome to the forum tullstray!

Thanks for the welcome Col! Actually its just the Tullist, seems I must have already signed up earlier in a drunken or stoned haze possibly at 3am, cause looking at the list of players, I was already in there as Tullist! Caught your bit on Folk Forum yesterday and delighted to find everybody and even occasional postings from people!

Is there a particular link I should be looking for? I'd like to have that video.

Bethlehem show was not OFFICIALLY released! Anyone who bought it bought a bootleg.
