That's the one. Just love the fact he's playing on the beach wearing his school blazer. Oh, those were the days I'm suprised he's not wearing an overcoat/baraclava/gloves and wellington boots...oh wait it's further south than Scotland !!!

The pics Non-Rabbit posted above, the side angle shot and the one with Dave Palmer, really show how much his son looks like him...no paternity issues here!

That sir, is priceless. Quite tempted to forward it either to the Tull board or his son's my space as I have to believe IA has long since forgotten it and I hope would get a big kick out of seeing it. I will likely download and frame it myself.

The only drawback to that remarkable picture is if you read the caption on the man's site he quotes the picture as having been taken in May 1979 and mentions it as having been taken prior to the Stormwatch LP when clearly it was taken likely precisely ten years earlier, though that coat was warn throughout 1970, but I am quite certain the year will be 1969. He also infers a close relationship with Steeleye Span which I also question, yeah I know IA produced Now We Are Six, and the Tull's guested on Maddy's 1980 solo LP, and of course the times in 71 and 2 and this year when Steeleye served a few times as Tull's opening act, but truly, with the possible exception to a small extent of Fairport Convention, I don't believe Ian at least has any close friends in the music community. I would like to believe he is close friends with Steeleye who I have loved nearly as long, but I don't think so. Further I believe it is evidence that the larger musical world of his time does not really respect him in the way of others seen up there like the terminally hip John Cale or the doomed Nick Drake. Maybe if Ian had had the good sense to develop a heroin problem or die at 26 history would have remembered him with far more respect. Sod the lot of them and freak the over praised Velvet Underground.

It's true our party leader is not very rock and roll...and, in the old days, would say the phrase 'jamming with other people' with the same enthusiasm as 'eating kaka'...but his hipness and 'one of the boys' shortcomings have been well worth it...the trade-off being longetivity! Viva Ian, Viva Tull

Think the actress/model is Madelaine Smith - was in Up Pompeii with Frankie Howerd. She used to get her kit off quite a bit

You know when you really look at the pic you start to wonder if it really is him? ?

The yellow glasses in the pictue above was not a fashion mis-statement-some butthead in the audience hit Ian in the eye with something in Philadelphia with Ian promptly offering him or her a butt-kicking on the spot but no one fessed up.

If my memory serves me right IA was hit in the eye by a rose thrown by a fan and he went a bit ape-sh1t about it - understandable really Love to hear a recording of that concert !

Your going to hate me for this but I'm going to mention the C word only because I couldn't resist this picture. It's a church in the next county to me in Cavan by a local photographer Ciaran McHugh. It's the ruins of an old church and I think it's quite an uncanny likeness to an album cover. i35.images obliterated by tinypic/34j6lgn.jpg[/IMG]

If i'm not wrong,a rose launched by a woman by the audience hit Ian in one eye.
